25.01.2022 Leading "Jack" across the Barron River at Picnic Crossing. This is a difficult wade of about 30m long with some hidden rocks and an ill-defined exit for the animals to recognise.I would not attempt to wade the animals if the water was much deeper without unloading them. Thre is a risk that the pack bags will begin to float and cause the animals to loose their footing and capsize.

13.01.2022 Deep wades and water crossings are a significant obstacle that require deliberate planning to execute.If the water is deep enough for the pack bags to float, causing the animal to loose it's footing and begin to float, resulting in the animal capsizing with disastrous consequences.
