25.01.2022 Our relaxed art based playgroups aim to connect kids to nature through fun activities and semi unstructured play. We provide opportunities for children to build self-esteem through hands-on learning. Our Sessions include bush craft, music and sensory activities. Through the playgroup, we hope to build a love and awareness of nature, wildlife and sustainability in our children. We welcome all members of the Morisset community & surrounds to bring their children (0-5yrs) to o...ur playgroup. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and aim to increase our cultural awareness of Awabakal country & heritage. All materials and equipment are provided; you just need to turn up. Suitable clothing includes hats, long pants and closed toe shoes and wet weather gear if it is raining (it is an all weather playgroup). The nature playgroup facilitators are qualified teachers and lovers of nature. They lead hands-on nature exploration each session in addition to sensory and physical activities, as well as providing lots of play time. The cost of the playgroup is $100 for Term 4(6 weeks) for a single child (0-5 years) or $150 for a family(siblings under 1 are free). This cost covers resources, facilitation, tools and also insurance. In Term 4, we will be running playgroups for 1Hr on Tuesday &/or Wednesday mornings from 10.30am. Parents are encouraged to linger a little afterwards, to socialize & enjoy a cuppa & share in a simple morning tea. Please bring a piece of fruit to share. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, our numbers are currently very limited. Once restrictions ease, we will open more places in our playgroups. Please drop us a comment below if you would like to join us & indicate your preferred days. If enough interest is shown additional days may also be added. We need a minimum of 5 children to get this rolling so please feel free to invite likeminded parents who may be interested to join us.
