21.01.2022 This dish is very close to Priscila's heart, our Brazilian executive chef. Bobó is a traditional Brazilian dish of African influence, originating from the North-eastern state of Bahia. This Brazilian-like prawn chowder is made with fresh prawns in a purée of cassava and creamy coconut milk. Served with coconut rice and beak pepper, this dish bursts with flavour! We can only say that it's definitely worth getting out of your comfort zone.

18.01.2022 Not only kitchen staff need to be quick on their feet and with their hands, but also mixologists. Oh and how lucky we are to have some amazing ones! As part of our cocktail’s menu is the remarkable, spicy, sweet andstrong Moscow Mule. They say that clothes make the man and the same thing applies to a cocktail. We serve this crisp and delicious drink the traditional way,on copper mugs, to create a chilling sensation when sipped. A great cocktail to have even during winter, be sure that the vodka will keep you warm. Luckily it’s Friday, we might have a sip!

16.01.2022 Sometimes do you ask yourself why we do certain things? Have you ever wondered why we eat ham on Christmas day? It is said that the tradition has evolved from an ancient pagan ritual, in Scandinavia in pre-Christian times. Towards the end of the year, Vikings in western Scandinavia welcomed the new year through great feasting. A wild boar was supposedly the sacrifice of choice in honour of the Norse mythology God, Freyr. Freyr was associated with good harvest, sun, rain and f...ertility, securing him an important position within the predominantly agricultural Viking Age Scandinavian society. When pagans were converted to Christianity, pork became linked to St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr or protomartyr, whose feast day is celebrated in December 26th, the Second Christmas Day. In order to continue this tradition, we have filled our ‘heat and serve’ Christmas menu with delicious pork meals, including the traditional ham. Don't want to ham it up this Christmas though? Not a problem, our show-stopping porchetta with prune & pistachio stuffing, brandy sauce and roasted parsnip purée will definitely be a great centrepiece alternative for your Christmas dinner. 05.01.2022 We can't believe that Christmas is in 37 days! 2020 has been a year full of ups and downs, but we must say time flew! From this year onwards we've decided to bring the Christmas orange tradition to WHC. There are a lot of stories out there that reference the Christmas orange. One of the versions is about St Nicholas and the three sacks of gold. The story talks about three sacks of gold St Nicholas tossed down the chimney to help a poor man who couldn't find suitors to his thr...ee daughters because he didn't have a dowry. The gold happened to land in each of the three girls' stockings which were drying by the fireplace. The oranges placed in the stockings nowadays represent the gold left in each of the girl's stocking back then. Another version talks about oranges being a treat during the great depression. Since many families couldn't afford buying gifts, oranges were the perfect treat, even a luxury, to find in the stocking during Christmas. Although there is more than one story behind the importance of oranges during Christmas, the theme is pretty similar. This is the season of giving and the slices of orange represent our ability to share what we have with others. We've been very lucky to have your support during these difficult times, so we've decided we'll soon be sharing a Christmas gift with one of you as a thank you for your support. Stay tuned! See more
