Where are you? Whose land are you on?... Map from Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies and is not definitive. 06.01.2022 This NAIDOC Week, Wildhouse Circus joins in the celebration of the history, art and culture of First Nations people and acknowledges the lands which each of our acrobats live, work and play. Today I write to you from Kaurna Land where we know First Nations people have been living, working and performing for thousands of years and are truly grateful for their wisdom, art and strength. ... Pictured is the Shape of Land artwork, by Noongar and Saibai Islander man Tyrown Waigana. Shape of Land description: The Rainbow Serpent came out of the Dreamtime to create this land. It is represented by the snake and it forms the shape of Australia, which symbolises how it created our lands. The colour from the Rainbow Serpent is reflected on to the figure to display our connection to the Rainbow Serpent, thus our connection to country. The overlapping colours on the outside is the Dreamtime. The figure inside the shape of Australia is a representation of Indigenous Australians showing that this country - since the dawn of time - Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land.

02.01.2022 Have you caught Flick on our stories in the last 24 hours? We need your help! Earlier this year we applied to perform in Japan!! Which obviously would be amazing. And this is the bit where we need your help. Ew. popularity contest, we know, it's not our favourite thing and asking for help isn't my string point bu...t here I am. If you could take 2 mins to go vote for us via the form here: https://forms.gle/mPcfpTE22gyPr8Cy5 Then we could be performing in Japan next year! Having that gig to look forward to would be so heartwarming and uplifting for our stunning acrobats. Thanks so much, have a fab day Also chuck a vote to our Aussie friend Miss C - Balloonologist as well.
