12.01.2022 As part of the University's survey of Q fever disease in wildlife rehabilitators, the researcher is conducting a serosurvey. Having hundreds of carers from all... over Australia in one place is an opportunity too good to miss, so AWRC has set aside a room at the conference venue for pathologists to conduct blood tests. We encourage carers to participate. AWRC also encourages carers to complete the survey (link below). See more

11.01.2022 Did you know that by donating directly to Gladstone Wildlife you are giving to a local charity? The Gladstone Wildlife volunteers care for animals in their own homes drive their own cars to rescues and pay for all of the animal expenses. Can you help us Help our local wildlife? We need to purchase special formulas for the animals we have in care, we need to be able to pay for medication for animals when they need treatment, we need to be able to keep saying yes we can help t...o the thousands of calls we receive and can't do this on our limited family budgets, which coming up to Christmas will be considered in our decisions to take animals into care . Gladstone wildlife doesn't receive any funding other than community donations to help us meet the costs of caring for wildlife. We have received less than $1000.00 this year in donations, sadly many carers stop caring because of the costs involved, the average cost of raising a kangaroo is $1200.00 ( we have had 54 in care this year). Please help our carers by donating via our online fundraiser here, becoming a regular sponsor, careline sponsor, or a collection point for our money tins. See more
