25.01.2022 This is some beautiful new branding for Julie at @littleboxofflowers who offer affordable boxed flowers (no worry about finding a suitable vase when in a hospital or at home) and gifts on a smaller scale to fit small budgets It was so much fun designing this rebrand for Julie whos brand was looking tired and she created it herself when she started out. With her business now established, Julie knew it was the perfect time to rebrand and have a brand more modern and uniqu...e for her business. We had quite a few laughs and hit it off from the moment we chatted when Julie booked in for her free 15 minute Brand Connection Chat. After Julie completed the design brief, we had another video chat about what she was looking for and she created a Pinterest board as well. I then knew exactly what she wanted, learnt more about her business, who her target target audience is and created her logo concepts. I presented the concepts to her and she squealed with delight and loved both the concepts and said it was so hard to choose. 22.01.2022 , ! My gorgeous daughter wanted her own portrait illustration. So she picked the photo that I had to create. So this was a photo I took of her when we went to @skyhigh_mount_dandenong last year and we were walking through the beautiful botanical gardens. She found a flower and put it in her hair so it would match her pink hair that was sadly fading. ... Tell me what you think of this illustration. 21.01.2022 I have had quite a few clients ask me what are Instagram Highlights and their icons, so I will explain it to everyone as they are valuable to have, especially on a business account. Instagram Highlight Icons are located right below the bio section of your Instagram profile and they provide a polished look for your Instagram Highlights (or Stories as they are also called). These icons draw attention to your best Instagram Story content. So if your Highlights include on-brand i...cons or your colour palette, your top content is easier to find and engage with. Instagram stories disappear in 24 hours so in order to give the option for the users to save some of their stories and make them visible as a pin in their profile, Instagram has provided a feature called Highlights. Instagram Highlights are groups of stories that you can create as folder sections on your Instagram profiles. So once you post a story, you can save it in a Highlight (like a folder) that will display on your Instagram profile, or you can also choose the option to archive the stories and in the future create highlights from the saved stories in your archive. The main attributes of the Instagram Highlights are: Highlights covers option to add a custom image, colour or an icon that will represent the topic of the stories that are saved inside. Highlights name option to name the Highlight the same as you do with naming folders. Note that once you create the Highlights, they appear in your Instagram profile screen right below your bio text and profile photo. HOW TO ADD A HIGHLIGHT ICON Before you start, add the icon images in your phones camera roll and follow these steps. 20.01.2022 To all my fellow Victorians (especially my Melbourne peeps) With stage 4 lockdowns now in place, its going to be a tough and challenging time for many of us and I hope we all make it out the other side all safe and ready to take on 2021. 20.01.2022 My lovely client Lisa came to me a few months ago wanting a brand logo for her new business venture - Enjoy Eating. Lisa is an accredited dietitian and nutrition consultant so she wanted to branch out more and create a business for womens who are worried about their weight and appearance, and want to eat healthy. She wants them to have a better relationship with food and be good role models for their children. Lisa also wants to do one on one appointments, public speak...ing, groups, and have consults with schools and businesses. So Enjoy Eating was created. Lisa knew she wanted a script font and she wanted to keep her existing business brand colours which is black, a deep magenta and a fresh green. 18.01.2022 I was contacted by Tracey from @thevanillarabbit Cake Atelier via #Etsy and she was after a simple black text only logo design for her cake business. She had been in business for a while and knew she wanted to change her business brand to attract more wedding orders and be more boutique. Her previous logo was pink and sparkly with whimsical text that attracted more childrens party customers. So this font is easy to read, delicate and classy. With such a long busines...s name I went with a two line style to break it up. 18.01.2022 ? Scanners, digital cameras, phones, iPads and computer monitors use red, green and blue (RGB) light to display colour. A light source within a device creates any colour you need by mixing red, green and blue and by varying their intensity. ... When red, green and blue light is mixed together at equal intensity, they create a pure white. Use RGB files for websites, apps, online branding, all social media, video, digital graphics and photographs for online. Files are jpgs, psd, png and gifs. Commercial printing presses print with cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK) ink, called process printing, instead of RGB light, and therefore produce a different range of colour. Each colour starts as a blank white and you add the colours to create a mix of variants of light, dark and colour. You use CMYK for projects that need to be physically printed. So use it for branding stationery like business cards, letterheads, stickers, signs, flyers, brochures, tshirts, packaging, menus and more. The best file formats are pdf, eps and will, To print on a four-colour press, all RGB files must be converted into CMYK colour. So did this help you with your business? 17.01.2022 ? This is a great question as many people/businesses don’t realise the colour types are different. , , , , . You will also notice that when you look at your phone and then look at a desktop computer, there may be a colour difference too. If you want to confirm a colour, its best t...o view a CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) or Pantone colour swatch book, to see how your colour will print. When designing for print, you need to use CMYK colour breakdowns or spot colour (Pantone) while web design needs to be created in RGB colour. It’s important to remember that CMYK printing gives a lot smaller colour range than RGB, so colours that you can see on your monitor might not be achievable in print. As RGB uses light in the colours, they always appear brighter while CMYK is more flat colours. To make sure you maintain consistency across print and web, it’s best to start with CMYK colours, and convert to RGB when necessary. If you have your set brand colours and your artwork is correct, then a print press check is a great step to ensure you are getting the colours you want. This is where the print business will print out a page of your job for you to check the colours and small adjustments can then be made on the press to better match your expectations and improve the quality of the job. 16.01.2022 I finally get to show off the new logo design for Kasie from @thenurturingcollective as her new website has just been launched. Kasie decided after a few years in business that she needed to rebrand and structure it to be more aligned to the clients she wanted to attract and to add other areas to her business. So Kasie changed her name from Yoga Ananda to The Nurturing Collective so her business wasnt just focused on yoga but she could offer other health and wellness ...products and services as well. So I created this new logo which can be used within a circle and also on its own and also did a lovely colour scheme that would suit. 16.01.2022 Happy Sunday! What plans have you got for today? I’m in Melbourne so our stage 4 Covid lockdown restriction have eased up after 16 days of 0 cases. Woohoo!!!... So I’m all excited to be going to the movies with my bestie today to see The Honest Thief with Liam Neeson. Hoyts finally opened up on Thursday and we usually go to the cinema a lot so we have missed it so much since lockdowns. I also got to catch up with Mum’s from school last night at our local brewery and it was so good to see their lovely faces and have so many laughs over a few wines. Kylie had created her own branding 18 years ago and it was definitely time to get her brand professional created and have it reflect her, her style and what she does. After creating her logo, I worked on her Style Guide, then her emailing signature, stickers and thank you cards which I also arranged the printing for.... 02.01.2022 Over the past week, we spent some wonderful and relaxing time at my aunt and uncle’s dairy farm in regional Victoria. My daughters and I love going to the farm - seeing family, lots of fresh air, gorgeous views, a beautiful garden (which I took too many photos of) a cute puppy named Nellie, lots of sheep, lambs, cows and the cutest calves. How can we not love going there.... I also get a cheese platter and a moscato wine on arrival. We had a trip to Warrnambool, then to Port Campbell and Colac. So I hope you all had some time off over Christmas and got to see some loved ones. Kim xx

01.01.2022 Hello Spring Well its a new season and we can finally get over winter! Im in Melbourne so its been dreary, cold and dark with not a lot of nice days. I am definitely not a winter person. Im always the one with five layers of clothes on so being home every day, my heater is getting a good work out. I get so jealous looking at friends photos in other states showing them outside at the beach, parks, holidays all with lovely sunny days.... So hopefully spring will shine a little brighter and things will start looking up. Tell me which state youre in and what you love about spring.
