14.01.2022 Making discoveries in our natural environment... Look it’s a caterpillar!!! Sam, one of our educators, called to the children. The children took a lot of time investigating the different features and exploring ways to respect it in its natural environment. When one of the children poked it Sam asked would you like it if you were in bed and someone came and started poking you? He considered this and reflected on how he would feel.... No he realised and then was thoughtful in his future investigations. #willettonchildcarecentre #willetton #earlylearningcentre #earlychildhoodcareandeducation #scienceeducation #stemeducation #learningempathy #naturelover See more

14.01.2022 Mental health is just as important and cognitive development and physical health. Everywhere we look there is COVID-19 talk. We can’t escape it and it will be eating away at our mental reserves. Here are a few links to have a look at, to help you and your families during these times; Talking to children;... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_URnXXK4Ag&feature=share Beyond Blue: Looking after your mental health during Coronavirus outbreak; https://www.beyondblue.org.au//looking-after-your-mental-h Transitions (changes in routine); https://beyou.edu.au/resources/news/healthy-transitions A tool to help you monitor your child’s mental health; https://beyou.edu.au/resources/mental-health-continuum https://beyou.edu.au/-/media/pdfs/betls_tool_pdf.pdf https://beyou.edu.au//mental-h/mental-health-continuum.pdf I know there’s a lot there to digest. 03.01.2022 With the number of families doing their best to stay home and flattern the curve, we were thinking... how can we stay connected? We are fortunate in this day and age that we only have to click a button and see each other’s faces and/ or hear each other’s voices and share some smiles and stories. Community connection helps everyone to feel a sense of security and confidence. We are still here for you. No matter how long you decide to stay away.... This includes newly exited children. Let’s organise some times when you’re free. Element 5.1.1: Responsive and meaningful interactions build trusting relationships which engage and support each child to feel secure, confident and included.- https://www.acecqa.gov.au//QA5_RelationshipsWithChildren.p . . . #willettonchildcarecentre #willetton #communityconnection #flattenthecurve #earlychildhoodeducationandcare #earlylearningcentre #giveusacall #facetime #communicationiskey #qualityarea5
