16.01.2022 I acknowledge that I live, work, and profit off land stolen from the Yuggera, Turrbul, and Kamilaroi people, and pay my respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging, as well as to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the wider Meanjin community and beyond. Sovereignty was never ceded. Australia’s indigenous people are the oldest living civilization in the world and as such, possess an incredibly rich history of stories and art. As a white male creative ...working on stolen land, I acknowledge the millions of works and stories produced by indigenous artists and creatives long before my time, and to those who are still creating today. As of today I will be donating ten percent of all invoices paid to williamfrance.co towards paying the rent. I have put together a spreadsheet with a list of organisations devoted to supporting the indigenous community which I’ll be making publicly viewable on my website through a site-wide update I plan to enact sometime later this week. I currently have a list of 27 different places to which I’ll be donating to, however please send through suggestions if you think there are any I have missed. Additionally, over the next week I will be reaching out to as many indigenous businesses, creatives and NFP as possible to offer my services completely free of charge. I wish to support any and all indigenous initiatives wherever I am able, whether it be through providing pro-bono services like shooting or editing, assisting with video & photo tech questions and anything else I can do as a business to help make a difference. 11.01.2022 437 indigenous people have been murdered by the police since the royal commission into Aboriginal deaths in custody in 1991, and yet not a single police officer has ever been held accountable. Many of the signs at the march cited 432, a figure which was tragically already incorrect by the time of the protest itself. Change was needed yesterday, but the onus of responsibility lies on white Australia's shoulders. 02.01.2022 Merry Christmas! I’ve taken direct influence from the shoulder rig used by @tenofswordsmedia and built a tiny rig for my GH5s.
