25.01.2022 Feeling creative? Come into the library and grab a Scribblers Festival Fueling Creativity Workbook. The workbooks contain 36 pages of stimulating activities to help promote ideas and creativity. In collaboration there are also 5 videos that can be found at https://www.scribblersfestival.com.au/. With each booklet you'll recieve a sticker and a 10% for partnered bookshops. We have a limited number of booklets so come into the library and grab yours today. The booklets are suitable for kids aged 9 and up.



25.01.2022 School holiday activities are back! Check out the flyer below for the activities and date. There are limited spots available so call the library on 9021 7112 or come in person to book your spot. The activities are strictly for children 6 and up, and adult supervision is required throughout the activities. The activities are $3 each and you are able to pay on the day. Please note for the cupcake decorating activity that there is gluten and egg in the mix.

16.01.2022 Registrations are now open for the Propel Youth Arts WA Sketchbook project. To register follow this link: https://www.propel.org.au/sketchbook-project , for more information on how the project works you can also check out the image below. The Sketchbook Project is for people aged 12-26, if you'd love to be involved sign up today. The completed Sketchbooks will tour WA libraries and will also feature at the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival. When the tour is finished your sketchbook will be returned to you.

14.01.2022 NAIDOC Week celebrations will be taking place across our City from the 8th-15th of November. Today City staff members, along with Mayor John Bowler, and Council...lors Wilson, Winner & Turner joined the community alongside Naidoc Kalgoorlie Boulder Committee at the 2020 NAIDOC Parade. Our staff members were proudly wearing T-Shirts designed by local artist and CKB staff member Robbie Hansen who also created the featured parade banner with the help of the City staff. 10.01.2022 Have you heard about the Propel Youth Arts WA Sketchbook Project? Any young person aged 12-26 across WA are welcomed to participate! All you have to do is register, they will send you a blank sketchbook and then filling it out is all up to you. You can cut up the paper, stick things in, paint, sketch, and stitch, embroider, draw, and write, anything you want. After you're done, you'll send it back to be in an exhibition. 07.01.2022 Our library has registered to take part in National eSmart Week. eSmart is an initiative of the Alannah & Madeline Foundation and is all about building supportive and connected social environments both on and offline. This is our chance to shine and show all the wonderful work we have done as a library community this year via #eSmartWeek. At the start of this year, who would have thought that some libraries would be closed and spending offering more online resources than eve...r before. Our library community has done an amazing job at adapting throughout this year. This year’s National eSmart Week theme is Connecting Safely. The week from 6-12 September celebrates the work libraries have done to connect safely. We’ll be in touch with some of the initiatives you can get involved in throughout this week. This podcast will give you a recount on the wacky history, stories and scandals from the past. This podcast is not for the faint of heart, it does discuss true crime and the colourful history of the gold-rush, sometimes gory but always interesting and we do recommend this one for adults only.
