24.01.2022 Hello Willow Star community! Ive been unable to put into words just how I plan to move forward with my childrens entertainment business, up until now. The current world health situation keeps evolving every day and it seems that the right thing for Willow Star Entertainment to do, is be patient & proactive to help stop any chance of covid-19 amongst any of our community. We will be ceasing all face painting services at this time until further notice. We are working with all... our booked clients on alternative entertainment, should their event go ahead. Many of you have been clients, right from the beginning and I thank you all for that! Thank you also to the Willow Star team members. Things may get a little quiet but we will hang in there! This little business based in Torquay, Vic, has been my life for the past 9 years and I am determined to keep it going by using this difficult time as a period of growth, as a mother and as a Childrens singer/songwriter. I plan to be as creative as possible. This is not the end of Willow Star Entertainment. I also plan to spend time with my kids in the garden. Take more beach walks with my husband & our fur baby Alice. Renovate an awesome cubby house for our children. Read them books. Write songs. Play music & dance. Ill continue to post links to videos clips and share any fun stuff or ideas for school holidays and beyond. I was also thinking how I can give back to all of you wonderful people, and I have an idea of creating free activity packs for your kids these school holidays. I have arts & craft/colouring in, dream catcher craft, Easter bunny rabbit ear kits, and Ill see what else I can find in my magical Willow Star Bungalow! There is no doubt that this is such a bad situation for all of us! But we need to stay home and protect ourselves and our community. Are you a parent who was out most days doing activities with your kids at the park, beach, kindergym, swimming lessons, library and playgroups before the stage 3 came in? Like me, maybe you are st...ruggling too? My kids are wanting to go beyond the gates and are begging to go to the shops or anywhere really... but I cant let them. Trying to entertain a 10 and 2 year old all day is tiring, but I find if I have a guideline of what my day looks like I can plan a more enjoyable day for all. 21.01.2022 Things are going to look a little different with our kids parties. We will be taking extra steps to keep our clients, guests and party hosts safe in this current world health pandemic. Its a real tough one. Just because we are having restrictions lifted, doesnt mean the virus has gone. At this stage, we will not be offering face painting. We will take things day by day and make decisions based on what the health authorities have to say. It is also a personal decision which everyone is entitled to have. If people choose to stay home and not take their children to parties, we will support that decision wholeheartedly. Safety comes first! If you are interested in booking a party for your child, please call us to discuss some different options that may suit you, your family and friends.

21.01.2022 I know home life is going to get a little more crazy with the current situation. Who knows for how long? Now with my sons school closing on Friday, I fear how am I going to be his teacher??? Ahhh the stress!!!! So the best thing for me is to just be his mum... and not his tutor. Read, play, cook, create, walk, talk and cuddle. Yes these are challenging times, but Im going to appreciate having back this time to live and learn together. With school holidays just around the ...corner, I had planned my kids holidays around my work with fun school holiday programs and play dates. Now thats all changed, we will still be having play dates and coffee catch ups/milkshakes at the beach, but we will be mostly home. Ive bought supplies from Bunnings to renovate the cubby house & tidy the gardens. I borrowed books, music and audio books for myself, my husband and the kids from the local library. In a world where it is go go go... Im going to embrace our new norm and go slow. Look at the clouds, stars, ocean, look at my kids, look at the world through their eyes. See more

13.01.2022 Its been almost 3 weeks since our Lincolns 3rd bday party (held over Zoom). Where has that time gone? Just wanted to touch base and say Hi everyone! I miss all of your faces! I miss seeing your kids and being welcomed into your homes. I have done so many of your parties over the years, it feels strange not to see you at community events or at Kinders and bday parties! I truely hope everyone is ok! Its really tough! I know Ive had my moments, but I feel ok today. Tomorrow... might be different! Im so sad I cant be there to help celebrate at all the upcoming birthday parties for the next, how ever long???? Its the unknown. But I can help you with ideas if you want help for your little ones birthday party. I might even be able to help you out with party music playlists & props. I have lots of craft and other goodies! Zoom is great for online parties. I upgraded from the free package to the premium zoom as it records your online party and is great for keepsakes! It also allows you to have more than 3 friends (households) attend your party. With Lincolns party, we had my whole family and needed 6 different zoom connections. With the premium zoom (around $180) I was able to connect all of the gang! We did a dress up theme which was fun. When we zoomed my brothers 40th we did a hat theme! We also went around and asked each person to share a memory. This was hilarious! We played a dance game at my Lincolns party blasting out baby shark. Im not sure if the music was picked up that well on the computer, but it was nice to play a game or just act a bit silly anyway. We still had a cake and asked all our guests to have a cake with us for when we sing happy birthday. My sister in Newcastle, also made her kids fairy bread and lolly bags to keep the kids all interested and happy! We still decorated the fence and the lounge room. I preempted the lockdown and had gifts put away, before the shops closed, but there are still lots of options. I know Torquay Toys was offering an appointment only service. So you can check out local options to help support your community. They will appreciate your business.
