25.01.2022 NZ is back open for business! As of today the level 4 lockdown in New Zealand has come to an end and its business as usual for us (if you can manage to get a flight over there!) Under the current circumstances, NZ customs are relaxing import GST exemption rules we have had several cases whereby NZ customs have granted exemptions to people who have not owned vehicles for in excess of 12 months or who have not met the other exemption criteria!... So, if youre already in New Zealand and you have a car sitting in Australia, or if youre willing to deal with the two week hotel quarantine on arrival then it could be a great time to consider taking your car back with the current relaxed import tax laws Compliance depots all over New Zealand are currently heavily backlogged as they havent been able to operate for the last month, but these delays should ease in the coming weeks as they get back on top of things. 25.01.2022 Very unique car we loaded in a very unique way today. This is a 1948 Hudson, bound for the USA Due to its limited ground clearance and wide body we decided to lash it to a specialized car pallet to ensure its secure for its journey across to LA ... We can assist with getting it there, but finding a Beach Boys Cassette and a 60s themed diner is another story

25.01.2022 If you are shipping your vehicle in a container you can fill the vehicle / tray with as much cargo as you like, and you can also use the remaining space around the container to put some additional items. 24.01.2022 We have completed a couple of interesting shipments lately The first was a large purpose built Roto Mix Feedlot Truck thats come all the way from Dodge City, Kansas, USA... This has a top speed of only 40km per hour so we had to use a low loader to move it more than 2000km across the country through to LA for shipping via roll on, roll off through to Brisbane. We saved our client more than $20,000 in shipping costs by doing it this way as opposed to sending it via a flat... rack container which had always been the norm with a previous logistics company up until we looked at how we could improve on this. Secondly we sent this beautiful 1951 Bentley Mark V1 across to the UK and back for a car show. 21.01.2022 This is certainly one of the more unique moves we have been employed to move! What you see here is a 1914 Horse drawn Gypsy Cart. The move itself is quite logistically complex due to the very fragile nature of the Cart. To ensure its safety we needed to move it from Melksham, UK inside a specialized enclosed tow vehicle where we have secured it to a bolster for its journey across to Australia ... It will take around 6 weeks for this to arrive into Brisbane from the UK, so our client at this end will have the Cart in time for Christmas!

13.01.2022 A question we often get is how we get out of the vehicles we load into containers? Well the answer is - with great difficulty! The opening door width of a container is 2.34m and some of these wider cars dont allow for much clearance.... We change into soft cotton clothing to ensure no belt / button etc can rub against the car, and once the vehicle is in the container we climb out of the window and do our best to suck our stomachs in, and shimmy down the side. Sometimes if the vehicle is extremely wide we will even attach ropes to the eyelet hooks along the top of the container that we can use to pull ourselves out and down the container away from the car. Makes it easier if we steer clear of the local kebab shop for lunch as well prior to loading, as hard as that is for some of the guys here

08.01.2022 While we have a lot of experience in high end and high value vehicles, this one certainly caught our eye as something pretty special. What youre looking at here is a very rare 1930 Bentley Speed 6, only 182 ever made and it has a whopping 6.5 liter engine producing 180hp, not bad for a car thats now 87 years old. This was purchased for well in excess of half a million dollars and its bound for Dublin, Ireland.... Of course we took all necessary care with the transport and loading of this one, we used an enclosed carrier to move it from the prestige dealership in Sydney to our loading depot and used very high quality chocks and lashing straps to ensure it wont move an inch on its journey half way around the world

06.01.2022 An often overlooked part of shipping your car is how to actually get the car from your house to the port. While not quite as complex a process as shipping your car across the world, it can nonetheless cause a few headaches if not planned for properly.

06.01.2022 We were lucky enough to tour a roll on, roll off vessel down at the Port of Brisbane last week. The sheer size of these vessels is mind blowing, more than 500 cars can fit on this deck alone, and the vessel has nine decks! Many people think that roll on, roll off shipping is much the same as a ferry where the vehicle is exposed to the elements during its transit, although as you can see this certainly isnt the case - vehicles are lashed to the deck within the vessel and at n...o time will the vehicle be exposed to salt water, wind, dust or anything that could potentially damage it while it travels to its destination. Its much more like an enormous, very clean underground carpark, and it makes for some pretty amazing photos!
