20.01.2022 GOOD PRACTICES TO STOP THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 To help stop the spread of COVID-19, practicing good hygiene is crucial, follow our steps below to minimise the ri...sk! Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds whenever you cough sneeze or blow your nose, prepare food or eat, care for someone sick, touch your face or go to the toilet. Completely dry your hands as well. If you are unable to wash your hands, use alcohol-based hand sanitiser. Remember to cough or sneeze into a tissue and discard the tissue immediately and proceed to wash your hands with soap. If you do not have a tissue available, cough or sneeze into the crease of your elbow. Avoid close contact with others if you are well. Keeping your distance when you are sick is a good defence against viruses. Wear a face mask only if you are unwell or caring for someone unwell there is very little evidence to support the use of face mask in healthy people to prevent transmission of the virus. It is good practice to frequently clean and disinfect the surfaces and objects that people encounter or frequently touch.

13.01.2022 Hay fever is well and truly upon us! Here are some handy tips to help you during this season People, with allergies, being aware of their triggers helps avoi...d them or take preventative measures to reduce exposure, such as: Checking the pollen count online. Try to stay indoors or at least keep windows and doors closed if it is a high count or a windy day Vacuuming carpets weekly Using air-conditioning in the house and car Avoid hanging laundry outside - pollen can stick to sheets and towels. Using a dehumidifier at home Clearing nasal passages with saline spray about 10-15 minutes prior to using a medicated nasal spray will improve the effectiveness of the medicated spray. #hayfever #allergy #prevention #hereforahealthiercommunity See more

13.01.2022 As of 11.59pm Sunday 2nd August 2020, ALL Victorians are now required to wear a mask when out in public. Please do the right thing, protect yourself and help pr...otect your community. We can only fight this if we are all in it together #StrongerandHealthierTogether How to put on a face mask 1. Clean your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer before touching the mask. 2. Remove a mask from the box and make sure there are no obvious tears or holes in either side of the mask. 3. Determine which side of the mask is the top. The side of the mask that has a stiff bendable edge is the top and is meant to mold to the shape of your nose. 4. Determine which side of the mask is the front. The colored side of the mask is usually the front and should face away from you, while the white side touches your face. 5. Follow the instructions below for the type of mask you are using. 6. Face Mask with Ear loops: Hold the mask by the ear loops. Place a loop around each ear. 7. Face Mask with Ties: Bring the mask to your nose level and place the ties over the crown of your head and secure with a bow. 8. Mold or pinch the stiff edge to the shape of your nose. 9. If using a face mask with ties: Then take the bottom ties, one in each hand, and secure with a bow at the nape of your neck. 10. Pull the bottom of the mask over your mouth and chin. How to remove a face mask 1. Clean your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer before touching the mask.Avoid touching the front of the mask. The front of the mask is contaminated. Only touch the ear loops/ties/band.Follow the instructions below for the type of mask you are using. 2. Face Mask with Ear loops: Hold both of the ear loops and gently lift and remove the mask. 3. Face Mask with Ties: Untie the bottom bow first then untie the top bow and pull the mask away from you as the ties are loosened. 4. Throw the mask in the trash. Clean your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer. See more hints here - https://www.sfcdcp.org//how-to-put-on-and-remove-a-face-m/
