21.01.2022 Aldinga Hotel is now refurbished and it is great to see how the old parts of the building are featured. The pub dates back to 1850, with Carty David Downing granted the first licence. He is buried in the St Anne's Cemetery. We very much enjoyed seeing the beautiful old slate floor in the cellar. Just before we had a delicious lunch! Many thanks to the lovely staff members who showed us around.

21.01.2022 Happy birthday to a wonderful museum. We have much enjoyed working with you.

16.01.2022 CAN YOU HELP? PLEASE SHARE! The Willunga Branch of the National Trust is seeking the medals that were awarded to Constable Thomas Tuohy by the South Australian Government and the Royal Humane Society for his conduct at the wreck of Star of Greece. One is gold, and the other is silver with the words For valour and Awarded to Thomas Stephen Tuohy, July 13, 1888." We want to photograph the medals at close range for our new Police Exhibit, with the permission of the current owners, of course. If you know where the medals are, please send us a PM or email [email protected] The image shows Constable Tuohy with the medals.

10.01.2022 Today’s #SAheritagegrantsprogram showcase project is SHP 13357 Holy Trinity Church Adelaide. A Church has existed on this site since 1838, it is therefore known... as the oldest church in Adelaide. The Adelaide Holy Trinity Church was built in three stages 1838, 1845 and 1889. The staged development of the site demonstrates the establishment and expansion of the Anglican Church in SA and also reflects the settlement and consolidation of SA as a whole. The church received a grant of $19,040 for masonry conservation of the west facade and transept. This top quality restoration work was undertaken by skilled stone masons using the correct mortar mixes and re-pointing techniques. This conservation project means we can all feel reassured that this historic Adelaide landmark will be standing for another 150 years. #heritagesa #holytrinity #adelaide
