01.01.2022 Creating a Win-Win for UnitingCare West and Wilma's Social Workshops. In the increasingly competitive market of not for profit services it can be a real challenge to support staff with professional development opportunities, while budgets are tight. Geanette, specialist team leader at UnitingCare West met this challenge head on. She got a group of 20 interested staff together for 'Trauma Informed Responses to Challenging Behaviours' a new workshop of Wilma's Social Workshops.... By bringing several teams together for the same workshop the price per person was reduced to just over $100, compared to $325 for individual enrolment. Another advantage is the interactive nature of all of Wilma's workshops. Team members have the opportunity to discuss dilemma's and obstacles directly related to their daily practice and after completion everyone is on the same page with new knowledge, skills and strategies.
