24.01.2022 This morning the kindy children went on a small excursion across the road to watch the train go by!!! The children were so excited watching the train go passed as they beeped there horn not once but twice! Excursions are an important part of learning as it gives children opportunity to be apart of their wider community and explore relationship with peers.

23.01.2022 This week our Kindy children have been busy bees at work. Making two beautiful poppy wreaths. One for Tegans office desk And the other was sent off yesterday for our beautiful friends are Hesse Rural Health to admire over the weekend.... This was the Kindy childrens idea, following on from their spring flowers and drawings last week. We have such a special group of Kindy children with the most beautiful hearts. We all hope our resident friends enjoy our special wreath and remember were thinking of them as well as the Anzacs.

22.01.2022 MEET THE TEAM Meet Jaymie! Jaymie has been employed with Winchelsea ELC for a month now and is very comfortable in the toddler room with Sarah. ... Please make her feel welcome, if you have not already introduced yourselves to Jaymie.

22.01.2022 Wren, Raine, Sefora, Annabel, Caitlyn and Sarah were very excited to be spending their first day graduating to the big Pre Kindy Room. This morning they enjoyed participating in lots of craft, have started creating their Fathers Day surprises and enjoyed sitting for a group time, listening to stories and singing songs. They felt very grown up sitting together at the table for lunch and washing their hands in the Kindy Room bathroom.

21.01.2022 Special Letters to our Special Friends On Wednesday some of our Kindy children began to have a discussion within the group about how they had missed seeing our resident friends at Hesse Rural Health, asking Ange when they could go back again. After having a discussion with the children about what is happening in the world at the moment with Coronavirus and why we cannot see our resident friends, We all decided it would be a beautiful idea to send them letters and pictures so ...that they knew we were thinking of them at this very hard time. Ange spoke to the children about dropping the letters off, and the children helped her to write a beautiful note to go along with our drawings, the note went like this: "Hello Everyone, We hope that you are all well and looking after yourselves. We have missed coming to visit you, playing games, doing puzzles, reading stories and watching the "Wheels on the bus" toy sing and dance for us. We cannot wait to come back for more high fives, cuddles and to create some more long lasting memories and friendships with you all. We have been doing lots of colouring in and drawings for you that you may like to hang up around your rooms so you dont forget us and to remind you that we look forward to coming back to see you very soon. Big hugs and kisses from your Kindy friends at Winchelsea Early Learning Centre Love from Tegan, Ange & Marlene" xoxo

19.01.2022 The Kindy Children are huge fans of Mister Maker. He helps us with some new craft ideas and activities. Today Mister Maker taught us about the importance of washing our hands after eating, playing and blowing our noses, by doing this it helps to keep us safe and healthy. The children spoke about when they need to wash their hands at Kindy and when at home. Stay safe everybody!!

Love to you both from the Educators and Familes at Winchelsea ELC

18.01.2022 Todays project......Teepee construction using recycled materials. The Kindy children needed to work together to hold the sticks in place before they tied them together using old pillow cases as the rope. "Lets have sleepovers forever". "This is the coolest, cubby ever" "I can make this at home with the same sticks"... Well done everybody on working together and listening to and sharing ideas.

We’re both doing well and I cannot wait to bring him in to visit, especially all my Kinder children who ask about Bubs each week! See you all soon, Tegs & Van.

17.01.2022 Good Afternoon All, Our Prime Minister and Education Minister have just announced that Australian families will have access to free child care. This is amazing!... We ask that you please give us some time to process all this new information and work out what this looks like and how it will work. We will be in touch once we have all the answers for you, and will send an email over the next few days to break this down. Please dont call us as of yet as we dont have the answers. A big thank-you for your support and assistance through this pandemic. Please stay healthy and well.

16.01.2022 PEN PALS RESPONSE Yay! This morning Susie from Hesse Rural Health dripped a parcel off for us! We all sat quietly on the mat whilst Tegan opened the envelope and told us what was inside! ... The staff and residents have made us a book! Full of photos of some of our friends, letting us know theyre well and what they have been up to during the pandemic. Please have a flick through the special book that is in our Kindy room with our sign out board.

16.01.2022 Look at the differences between a typical younger childs hand (left) and a typical older childs hand (right). I have parents asking regularly why their presch...ool aged child isnt able to write yet. This is why! Their hands (and brains) are still developing and are not fully formed. So what should they be doing to support this? PLAY!! Playdough, colouring, cutting, gluing, playing outside, digging in dirt, sensory play, dress up play, science experiments, beading, puzzles, throwing balls, etc. All of these things help their hands develop. When they are physically ready to write, they will! No need to rush them, they will show you when they are ready! See more

15.01.2022 When the world stayed apart, this was my favourite place to be... Our Kindy friends have been working together to make something pretty amazing to make our foyer look beautiful for when all of our families and friends arrive to our centre! And it all looks so wonderful and makes me very happy to be greeted by this each morning at such a hard time for all.

15.01.2022 This morning the Kinder children found a spider in their playground. "What kind of spider is it?" "What can we name him?" "What does it eat?" "It is enormous like me!"... "How many legs does he have?" "Is he fluffy?" "What other spiders are there in the whole wide world?" We will use some time today to research spiders and answer these questions. The Kinder children love to learn and discover lots of new things about creatures in their outdoor learning environments.

The bubble wrap was lots of fun to use with paint for printing, while the cardboard cylinders were used to build garages and towers for our trains and cars. 08.01.2022 From 6 April to 28 June 2020 you wont need to pay child care fees which means were not paying Child Care Subsidy (CCS) during this time. If you started using ...child care since early April and want to keep using it after 28 June, you should start looking into CCS. If you want to claim it, and havent yet applied you should claim now. Theres no need to wait. If you were getting CCS before 6 April 2020, you wont need to do anything for it to start again on 29 June 2020. Find out more about CCS if youre new to child care here: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/indiv//new-child-care

07.01.2022 Please have a look at the multiple new positions advertised on "Jora".

05.01.2022 Today the Kinder children engaged in an experiment using food dye and celery. As an extension of their colour mixing last week they used their 3 Primary Colours RED, YELLOW AND BLUE as food dye, placing the celery into the jars to see what would happen to the celery over time. Throughout the session the children observed the celery change colour. This supported our understanding of how plants absorb water though their roots.

03.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR FAMILIES WHO HAVE A CHILD ENROLLED IN CHILD CARE: Whether youve lost your job or are keeping your child home to prevent the spread of cor...onavirus, please dont un-enrol your child. If youve lost your job or are working reduced hours, theres financial support you can access. Please dont just pull your child out of care. To access financial support, log on to MyGov and apply for temporary financial hardship (see below screenshot). This means the government may pay your childcare fees IN FULL for 13 weeks. If youre choosing to keep your child home, the government has extended the number of allowable absences that can be covered by the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). This may support you to keep your child home and still receive the CCS. Remember, keeping your child enrolled will help your child care service to continue paying educators. It will also ensure that your child care service doesnt go bankrupt and that you can return to work when our economy is ready to get back on track.

02.01.2022 PEN PALS DURING COVID 19 This week our Kindy children have been very intrigued about Covid-19 and have asked a lot of questions about their resident friends over and Hesse Rural Health. -Why cant we visit them?... -How come we havent been for a while? -When can we go again? Ange has had a lot of in-depth conversations about germs, the spreading, encouraging the children to wash hands and explaining why this needs to happen. The children then decided if they were unable to see their favourite residents again, which could be for some time and possibly not for this year, they would write them letters again to wish them well, tell them they miss them lots and cannot wait to see them all again!

01.01.2022 The Kinder children continue to enjoy using donated recycled materials as part of their Program. Today we started creating our cars and trucks ready to drive on Monday........watch this space as we share our exciting new adventures.... Hope you all have an awesome weekend!!
