23.01.2022 Today, July 12, the official opening of our irrigation system was held at the Winchelsea Golf Club. Dignitaries included the Hon Gayle Tierney, MVLC for Western Victoria, Member for Polwarth, Richard Riordan with representatives from Surf Coast Shire, Barwon Water, and SWGA President Bernie Perry. We would like to thank all those involved in making this vision a reality and look forward to working with them towards new projects in the future. Without the support of these org...anisations, achievements such as this would be difficult, if not impossible. Appreciation is also given to the golf club members, whose work before and throughout this project with thousands of volunteer hours and financial support, can never be taken for granted. This paved the way to better course conditions, year round with more enjoyment for all, not just golfers but the community.

18.01.2022 Hi all as the pennant season has drawn to a close for us a big thankyou to Brent Kahle for organising the players on a weekly basis and to all members who stood up to play each Sunday for the club as most weeks we always found the 19 players required for the 3 sides - Div 3 had a win today to secure their spot in Div 3 next year, Div 5 Danny Ehmer the tosser won all 6 tosses for a successful year, as for most of the players had never played scratch pennant & Div 6 thanks to Bill Spencer for leading the team. 17.01.2022 Winchelsea Bowling Club are working with PRD Ballarat and Gippsland Farmer Relief in Traralgon Friday night the 10th of January we will be holding barefoot bowl...s and sausage sizzle with all gold coin donation aswell as any goods we can offer. If any local businesses wish to help out with our raffle prizes please contact me as all raised will go to the relief. A number of staff at PRD Ballarat will be driving to donate all goods received. The volunteers at Gipsland Farmer Relief will then package into hampers and be dropped to Bairnsdale Relief Centre, and further distributed as able to families that have lost homes, are unable to return home currently, or need assistance. As we know this is now a humanitarian crisis, with people without basic needs of water, minimal food, toiletries. Please drop your goods off at Winchelsea Bowling Club on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday after 4.30pm. Then we will be getting these goods moved to Ballarat to be taken down to Bairnsdale. Please ONLY drop the below items. 17.01.2022 Winchelsea vs Birregurra We are hosting the Interclub Challenge this year on Sunday 7th February with a 12 noon shotgun start. Last year they absolutely killed us, particularly their women, so we have some catching up to do. Anyone who would like to represent the Club would be most welcome. I don’t know numbers at this stage but the outcome is usually based on aggregate scores for both Men and Women. Just let Brent or any of the Match Committee know asap. In the past its been a great day irrespective of the result and a good chance to strengthen the ties between the local smaller Golf Clubs.
