24.01.2022 Thank you to everybody who came along to this afternoon’s Nature Play Expo. What a nice way to come together and strengthen our connection as a school community. We have loved having you join us at the parent Nature Play sessions over the past several weeks and at today’s event. We hope we have offered our families and community an insight into what our Nature Play program is all about - collaboration, engagement, risk taking, persistence, problem solving and JOY! I’m sure y...ou can see just how much our children enjoy it and the lifelong skills they’re building along the way. A big thank you to our Early Years team for their commitment to the program. We’ve grown so much as a team over the past two years. A tremendously big thank you to Kara, our program leader, for her commitment, organisation and passion for what she does. Thank you for taking us all on this journey and showing us just how much learning can happen outside the four walls of the classroom!

10.01.2022 New COVID-19 screening tool at Windermere Primary School Windermere Primary School has introduced a new screening process for all visitors, volunteers and contractors coming into the school. In line with other businesses, Windermere Primary is using the newly developed Ramsay QR code to streamline entry processes by offering people the chance to complete the screening questions before arriving, replacing the need to fill out a paper form. If you are a visitor, volunteer or ...contractor you will need to do the following: Step 1 Hold your smartphone camera up to the QR Code which can be found on posters at office entrance points. Simply hover the camera over the code as if you were going to take a photo of it. Step 2 Click the link that pops up on your screen and simply follow the prompts. Step 3 Answer all questions. Step 4 Show your phone confirming the results to the staff member in the office as you enter. Don’t forget to use the hand gel as you enter.

09.01.2022 The weather is looking good for today’s Nature Play Expo. Why not stick around after school for a sausage sizzle and some great activities for the kids? Bring along a completed COVID Visitor Screening Form or grab an extra from Miss Medcraft. See you in the Kinder/Prep playground!

08.01.2022 Sensory play is so much fun! Our Playgroup and Pre-Kinder children had a great time with some messy, squashy, gooey, sensory experiences today! If you have a child aged birth-3 years, come along to our Playgroup sessions 9:00-10:30 on Thursday mornings in the early childhood building. Don’t forget to bring back your Kindergarten enrolment forms for 2021! Spaces are filling up and we need to get those forms back in to be able to start organising classes for next year.

06.01.2022 Our Year 1/2 students had a terrific excursion today to celebrate the end of their Geography inquiry into local community. We visited several places around Claremont including Cadbury Chocolate Factory, Claremont College, Claremont Golf Club and MONA. A highlight for the children was receiving a special chocolate treat from a kind parent who is an employee of Cadburys. Next we stopped at Montrose Foreshore Park for lunch and a play. We were very thankful the sun came out. We... finished our day with a visit to the Glenorchy City Council. Mayor Kristie Johnston spoke with us about her role in our community and showed us the special room where important decisions are made. Some students got to try on the clothing that is worn by the Mayor, the Deputy Mayor and the General Manager during these meetings. The children were especially excited to hear of plans for new playgrounds in the Glenorchy and Goodwood areas. Cooper C told Kristie that he might compete with her for Mayor in the next election! When we returned to school, the children discussed what decisions they would make for their community if they were Mayor. Here is some of what they said - Ariaa would build a pool in Chigwell. Brock would organise people in the community to help him pick up rubbish every day so that it stayed clean. Shanaya would build some big buildings. Sieanna would build homes for old people who can’t look after themselves and a place for homeless people to stay until they find a job.
