23.01.2022 Today is RUOK day! A great excuse to reach out to someone and show them you care :) https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1402319736573006&id=158084124220520

22.01.2022 Winter can trick us into thinking we don't need to drink as much! Just because we're not sweating our way through the day like we do in summer, doesn't mean we don't still need water. Winter air (especially on a windy day) is very dry, and the cold weather can make a cold glass of water so unappealing. What's the good news? Studies have shown that the diuretic effect of tea and even coffee* isn't enough to counteract their hydrating effect. So grab a friend and a cuppa and pat yourselves on the back for being so healthy! *let's not get into the pros and cons of caffeine here...

21.01.2022 Is your back struggling with the Christmas workload? Were here to help you deliver those presents and to enjoy your break!

20.01.2022 What are some good habits you've cultivated in your daily life (or bad habits you've broken) to keep you healthy?

20.01.2022 Why do you eat what you eat? Is it because it makes you happy, because you're craving it, because you've had a hard day? Do you avoid certain things because someone's told you they're bad? ... Nutrition isn't about suffering through a diet, it's about what makes your mind and body run smoothly and efficiently. Your food should make you feel good, give you fuel, provide you with the building blocks you need to maintain healthy cells and tissues. It's important for your injuries to be approached from many angles. Your food contributes to your body's chemistry, and this in turn affects your physical resilience and ability to recover quickly. Sometimes in the new year we jump on a dietary bandwagon, or focus on losing kilos and grams, but often this is difficult to maintain and is followed by a swing in the opposite direction. Have you thought about eating as an act of caring for yourself, rather than an act of disliking yourself?

19.01.2022 Hoping everyone is easing themselves out of the holiday season and into the new year! A friendly reminder that this coming week is my last week taking appointments as I head into maternity leave. I'm so excited to be welcoming our new little one soon, and feel so grateful knowing the clinic and patients are in excellent hands with Mark! Whether or not I get to see you this coming week, I'm wishing everyone in our community a happy, healthy, safe and fun 2021. ... :) Gemma See more

13.01.2022 Motivation Monday: What is driving you? Pain is a great motivator. When you're in pain it can be hard to focus on anything else, and we find that most people who come to see us are very motivated to get out of pain. But what then? If you cast your mind back to yoru intake paperwork, you might remember that we ask you about your short and long term health goals. It's no surprise that for the short term, most people write "pain free." The long term goals, though, are more vari...ed - we see them all, from mastering a sport-specific technique that's been eluding you, to being able to run around with the kids. From being able to sit at your desk comfortably for a full day's work, to beating a PB for a 10km run. What are your long term health goals, and what are you doing daily to reach them? Revisiting your goals regularly will help you progress, and give you something to celebrate when you meet them! If we can help you reach your goals, whatever they may be, reach out! We'd love to help :) https://www.halaxy.com//windsor-sports-chi/location/333045

12.01.2022 Did you know..?

12.01.2022 Look familiar? If you think your computer setup at work or home is doing you harm, why not ask us about it at your next appointment?

11.01.2022 An exciting day as we move into our new office! Find us just down the road at Shop 9, 251-257 George Street (just past the Coles building, if you hit the post office you've gone too far!)

10.01.2022 THANK YOU MARK!! I'd like to take a moment to express my extraordinary gratitude to Mark for continuing to make himself available to patients through this absurd, surreal, often frightening time. Often going the extra mile - staying late, starting early, changing procedures to keep our community safe - to ensure that nobody has had to cope with pain on top of the other daily stresses that have suddenly piled on. He'd be mortified to know I'm singing his praises like this, but... sometimes people deserve a public, embarrassing THANK YOU, and I believe this is one of those times. As restrictions continue to lift, we've been able to re-open up online bookings for appointments with me (Gemma) for Monday mornings. Mark, as ever, will continue to be available his regular hours. To make a booking, click the link in this post, or call our clinic on 4505 1285.

10.01.2022 Friendly Friday Reminder We are so close to the weekend tag someone who might benefit from taking a few deep breaths!

08.01.2022 Don't want to give up your exercise, but having trouble with pain or an injury? Ask for help! Sometimes people avoid asking for help with an injury because they don't want to be told to stop! Wherever we can, we work with you to come up with exercise regressions, alternative exercises, and programs to rebuild your strength so that you can continue to train, and come out the other side of your injury stronger Artwork by the inimitable Charlie Mackesy

08.01.2022 Were here for you this Christmas and open throughout the holiday season!

07.01.2022 Here's one for our riders : "There is a distinct correlation between the riders posture and the horses posture as they train together. If the riders core muscles are not engaged, then the horses core muscles also will not be engaged. Even though the horse has a distinct advantage in having four legs, a rider must learn to hold his or her own posture in order for the horse to engage its own core strength, which is necessary for it to hold its frame up." Send us a message if you have trouble engaging your own core muscles in the saddle!

07.01.2022 We’re here for you this Christmas and open throughout the holiday season!

05.01.2022 The weekend outlook. How is yours?

04.01.2022 GONE FISHIN We are closed today but we arent out of range. Contact us if the long weekend shenanigans have got the better of you, appointments are available from Wednesday!

03.01.2022 Does it sound crazy that we see more of different problems depending on the weather? In winter, when everyone is bracing themselves against the cold, I notice we see a lot more catching pain or locked up necks! Here are a few things you can try to keep yourself comfortable through winter: 1) Dress appropriately for the weather. A warm coat and a scarf will stop you from hunching your shoulders up and shivering. 2) Keep that coat lightweight, as an extra kilo or two dragging ...over your shoulders can really take a toll! (Down jackets are perfect for lightweight warmth, but make sure before buying one that the feathers have been ethically harvested. You don't need that weight on your shoulders, either!) 3) Try to maintain your regular exercise routine through the winter. While cold weather can be demotivating, movement and strength are associated with greater resilience against injury and pain. Not to mention the positive mental health benefits you receive for actively participating in the community! Find a buddy and go get sweaty together :) 4) Stay hydrated! Refer to our last post for some interesting facts about what to drink to stay hydrated through winter. 5) If you're noticing any pain that is stopping you from moving normally, and the above tips haven't helped, come in to see us! The sooner your pain is resolved and your movement restored, the less likely you will be to become trapped in a fear -> avoidance -> injury loop! 02.01.2022 If you could do today over, what would you do differently to make it a little greater? Sleep more, wake up earlier? Spend extra time with your family, go to the gym? Eat to nourish yourself or have a treat? Real self care is recognising what you need (not always what you want in the moment), and making sure that you get it!

02.01.2022 Have you had a busy week but can spare a minute this weekend for an appointment? We are open on Saturdays! You can simply click the link below or call us on 02 4505 1285 to book a time. ... https://www.healthkit.com//chiro/360045/333045/select-time
