25.01.2022 Grade Debut A massive congratulations go out to Oscar Vaughan for making his grade debut in 4th grade today. Oscar normally plays in the mighty u/14’s team and did a great job in grade today at St Philip’s. He finished with a couple of wickets, a catch and 3 runs.... Well done legend! Quack Quack!

24.01.2022 Wishing the Ellis boys happy 18th birthday. They’re going to shout us all a beer next time we’re at the pub!!

23.01.2022 Hey folks, hard to believe we’re at Xmas already!! So far we’ve exceeded expectations especially in the Coalfield’s Cup coming from a predicted 10th to making the semis!!! All our other grades and our juniors are sitting in good spots as well, all with the potential of making finals in the second half of the season.... T20 will be starting early next month, so make sure if you wish to play you’ve let someone know. We again have the two tiers T1 & T2 with both morning and afternoon games. Now to the most important thing. This Saturday we will be having a bit of an Xmas get together at the Railway with food & schooner cards. The start will be after the games at 6pm, however, looking at the weather forecast this may change to an earlier start, will keep you posted, most likely be a 5pm start if the games are called off. Lets all try to catch up even if it’s only for a drink or two and a bit of a chat. Wishing all our players and their families a very safe and Merry Xmas and Happy New Year. Please take care if driving and see you in 2021!!! UP THE DUCKIES!!!!

23.01.2022 Attention Junior Ducks It's time to start hassling Mum and Dad about cricket. First step is the get them to jump on playcricket.com.au, click on find a club then type in Wine Counrty Cricket Club and your're on your way to becoming a Duck. We have Master Blaster on Tuesday afternoons at St Phillips running from 330pm-5pm at a cost of $119... Stage 1 (10-11yrs) and stage 2(11-13yrs) on Saturday mornings at the cost of $125 Stage 3 (13-16yrs) on Saturday mornings at the cost of $150 And Girls sixes (any age) at the cost of $100 Don't forget to use your kids active voucher to help reduce the cost. 17.01.2022 Hi all, as previously suggested if your looking to have a hit in the nets please refrain from using the nets at Allandale until further notice. Suggest using Turner park nets as a substitute. I have been speaking with Brendon in regards to training and we can start this week on Thursday with some fitness and fielding skills if so desired. There is the possibility of preparing a turf training strip for some batting and bowling but with the planned trial game against Manly this... weekend and the forecast rain later in the week this will potentially interfere with match day wicket preparation, so we will look to kick off Thursday sessions from next Thursday 17th Sep, starting at 4:30pm. We are 3 weeks away from the start daylight savings. It is my intention to begin training Tuesday & Thursday full sessions from October Tuesday 6th. The Training format will run as follows; - 15min warm up & stretch - batting , bowling, fielding rotations - 10min warm down and stretch. And depending on interest shown I would also like to have a catch and field session in the park next to the Railway Hotel on a Friday afternoons & then a refreshment at the Railway afterwards for some additional support to our major sponsor. For any shift workers that find difficulties in attending normal training sessions I will be more than happy to try and arrange a time suitable to provide a session for you to get a hit as well. Your feedback is welcomed and all suggestions will be considered to ensure we have effective training that enhances our objective of being the number one club in the competition this season and beyond. 16.01.2022 Hey everyone, I’m getting rid of some old gear and am trying to find a charity preferably local to donate it to rather than throw it away. If I can find one would anyone else be interested.? It would be good to help those a little less fortunate and be a great thing to do as a club. It’s just an idea at present.

13.01.2022 39’c predicted for Saturday, finally some proper cricket weather!!!

13.01.2022 AROUND THE GROUNDS WITH THE DUCK This weekend was another indifferent weekend of results with 2 out of the 5 sides winning with 1st and 4th grades both tasting victory. Let’s start with 1st grade who took on PCH in a must win match at Allandale Oval With PCH winning the toss and electing to bat on another beautifully prepare deck and posting a healthy total 7-158 of their 40 overs. The Ducks started well with the ball with Ben Wood striking first followed by 2 quick wickets ...Continue reading

12.01.2022 Wow what a day out for the Ducks at Tamworth. With 4 junior Ducks playing in the Coalfields under 17s rep side who took on Inverell. Inverell batted 1st and enter Hudson Smith who took figures of 4-12 off 8 which included a Hat-Trick Inverell were bowled out for 161. Needing 162 to win Ducks batters Tom Page 21, Jayden O’Conner 23 and Samual Peacock 38no helped getting the Coalfields side over the line. Unfortunately the Coalfields side missed out on a spot in the final on percentages. With junior’s like theses players plus many more playing grade for the Ducks it’s no wonder we are in the top 4 in 3 out of 4 grades. Congratulations to Hudson Smith on his Hat-Trick

12.01.2022 Don’t let yourself go in the off season!!!

11.01.2022 SYDNEY SIXERS HOLIDAY PROGRAM @ MAITLAND

10.01.2022 Grade Debuts Two more of the legendary u/14 Ducks made their grade debuts today in 4th’s. Jahli Cochrane and Ben McGowan both did a great job with the bat and ball. It was a special occasion as both boys had their dads playing in the same side(# proud dad moments).

09.01.2022 Around the grounds with the Duck Well how things changed in a week we went from winning 3 out of 4 grades to losing 3 out of 4 grades with 3rds White the only team notching up a victory We will start with 1st grade who took on an under strength Branxton team with the likes of Bercini, Dagg and Holz missing. With Captain Fensom losing the toss and was asked to bowl 1st and when Hudson Smith clean bowled Branxton’s captain when the score was 14 it looked like it was the Ducks...Continue reading

08.01.2022 Ducks play rep!! Hudson Smith and Samuel Peacock playing for Central North u18’s today! Sam made 13 with the bat and Huddy took 1-6 off 5.3! Well done men your flock is proud of you!! Up the Ducks

08.01.2022 U/13’s Wrap Up The mighty u/13 Ducks took on Eastern Suburbs today at Fieldsend Oval. The Ducks bowled first and produced a few tight overs against a strong Easts batting line up. Zane White 2/12(3) and Riley Cook 2/13(3) were the pick of the bowlers. Jack White and Ben McGowan also took a great catch each but Easts got to 4/109 from their 20 overs.... The Ducks needed a strong start with the bat but lost early wickets for not many runs. The pick of the batters were Riley Cook 5(11), Beau Heffernan 4(25) and Ben McGowan 3(25) not out. The Ducks finished their 20 overs but only got to figures of 6/34. Plenty to work on for next week against Thornton at the ‘Dale’. Quack Quack!

07.01.2022 Congrats to more Junior Ducks on their selection in the Central North Navy squad Samuel Peacock Hudson Smith

07.01.2022 Our club would like to congratulate First Grade skip Andrew Fensom and his lovely wife Jenna on the safe arrival of their beautiful baby girl Nicola Mae. Best wishes on behalf of all of us!!! I think there might be a serious head wetting for Nicola coming up!!! Once again, congratulations to you and your family on behalf of us all!!

06.01.2022 Grade washouts Unfortunately 1st grade at Carmichael 1 has been washed out. This brings the Ducks Coalfields Cup campaign to an end. It was a great campaign for the Ducks who will now turn there attention to the CDCA competition in the new year. 3rds Blue at Carmichael 2 is also washed out.

06.01.2022 U/14’s Wrap Up The legendary u/14 Ducks took on local rivals Greta Branxton today at Allandale. Captain of the day Lachlan Eather won the toss and elected to have a bat. The junior Ducks were on fire with the run rate at well over a run a ball. Liam Hurst led the way walloping 51(28) not out retired, Duck of the Day Lachlan Eather would not be outdone hitting 50(35) and retiring not out. The were well backed up by Alex Brown 22(31) not out and Oscar Vaughan 12(28). The Ducks... finished with a massive total of 1/161 from their 20 overs. The Ducks bowled extremely well defending their total. The total bowlers were Lachlan Eather 3/2(2), James O’Neill 2/9(2), Oscar Vaughan 1/1(1) and Ben McGowan 1/3(1). The Ducks bowlers limited Greta Branxton to 9/86 from their 20 overs. This was another tremendous victory for the junior Ducks and keeps them on top of the table. Bring on Easts next week. Quack Quack!

06.01.2022 Grade Debuts Two more of the legendary u/14’s made their grade sebuts today in 4th grade. Lochie Eather and Alex Brown both played extremely well with Lochie grabbing one wicket and Alex taking a wicket on the first ball of his first over.... The future of the club is in good hands with young blokes like these two coming through.

06.01.2022 Massive shout out to Lewis Howells and Johan Briedenhann who were at the Palace from early this morning to help spread topsoil and then to John Dwyer, Andrew Fensom, Tyler Wade, Mark O'Hara and Kayden Howson for helping with a second load and spreading lawn seed. This is what it’s all about! Up the Ducks

04.01.2022 Congrats to our junior Ducks Jayden O'Conner and Aidan Eather on selection in the Central North Challenge Side UP THE DUCKS

02.01.2022 Hi folks, just a reminder to you all to get your rego sorted ASAP. To date we have not had a great deal of players officially register. Remember, unless you have registered on line you CANNOT play as MyCricket will prevent you from being entered a a player. Secondly, we have not as yet received an official start date for the season. Once we know, hopefully very soon we will pass it on. Also, again hopefully we can give some times when training will commence. We would ask you... please be patient, as you know things are very far from being a normal season start!! Here are the instructions to register followed by a few dodgy photos to assist. Seems straight forward enough. If I could do it should be easy for everyone else!! REGISTRATION IS ALL DONE ON LINE (please follow the instruction below to Register) - type in PLAY CRICKET - type POSTCODE 2325 - Choose Wine Country Cricket Club - follow directions
