13.01.2022 Once upon a Pandemic, three wine nerds were left scratching their heads after the hospitality industry closed down. After a bottle of wine or three, coming to terms with their new working arrangements (or lack thereof) they woke up with a hangover and the blueprints for a new website. Enter a tech nerd. and WineShanty.com.au came to life.... Utilising a fortuitous liquor license, the team created a website to help venues & suppliers generate income while they are unable to trade due to social distancing restrictions. The idea allows venues to transform into an online retail outlet, allowing loyal patrons to support their favourite establishments, helping keep the Adelaide hospitality industry alive during the chaos that is COVID19. Using WineShanty.com.au, venues are able to sell their listed wines to consumers, staying relevant and keep their business moving forward. While retail margins are not as high as on-premise margins, their overheads during this time have also been reduced significantly. Any margin helps them pay their bills. Importantly, the Wine Shanty team are passing on the full margin to the venues & suppliers, minus an admin fee & GST. No profit is made from the admin fees. Did we mention Wine Shanty take zero commission also? For orders under $180.00, and within the Adelaide metro region, a $10.00 delivery fee is added to your order. This will assist in the logistics of getting your order to you safely. Please note, any orders outside the Adelaide metropolitan are, regardless of price, will also incur a $10 delivery charge. Adelaide is famous for both its food and wine culture and this reputation is currently being severely threatened. We're asking everyone to work together to get through this unprecedented situation and help save the Hospitality industry.
