10.01.2022 How do you carry on painting and drawing with arthritis? As a teaching artist, I come across this question quite a lot, so I thought I’d share a few suggest...ions I’ve picked up that might make drawing and painting a bit easier if you have arthritis: Choose lightweight pens, pencils, paintbrushes (e.g. handles made from bamboo are light) Choose drawing and painting tools that have a large diameter (e.g. a paintbrush with a thick handle). Or try wrapping pencils, paintbrushes with rubber tubing to create thicker handles for better grip Use pliers to open tough paint tubes Please always consult your doctor first before attempting any of these; this is not medical advice and no liability will be accepted.
