08.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE For those who may have missed the news. Wingello State Forest has been burning for a week, and is currently closed until further notice. This means that ALL horse riding trails within the forest are also closed. ... When the forest re-opens, which is likely to be some months after the fire threat has passed, we will assess the damage, and then endeavor to re-instate the horse riding trail network as soon as we can.

02.01.2022 Wingello State Forest - Update Due to Covid-19, forest salvage operations and safety works have been substantially delayed. Unfortunately, it is probable that Wingello State Forest will not re-open for public recreation until at least January 2021. Please respect the Forests NSW decision. If their operations are disrupted, or staff are needed to patrol forest closures, this will only further delay the re-opening.... Forestry staff are very supportive of recreation groups which use the forest and are assisting us with our planning for restoration of the trail network, so the fire-damaged trails can be marked and ready for you for when the forest is open again.
