24.01.2022 Gioachino Rossini called his Petite Messe Solennelle 'the last of my sins of old age.' Written just five years before his death, the Mass was Rossinis last major work, and like all his music, it is gorgeously lyrical, spirited and engaging. In this live performance by the UWA Choral Society Christopher van Tuinen conducts a full choir of over 100 voices accompanied by respected West Australian soloists Katja Webb, Courtney Pitman, Perry Joyce and Andrew Foote. Calming, occasionally joyful, often angst-ridden, this concert is not to be missed, and will be held at Winthrop Hall this coming Sunday the 21st of August.

Now in the 51st year, the book sale is well established as an event in the university calendar. Thousands of top quality donated books covering almost all subject areas will be available, as well as sheet music, recorded music and DVDs. Proceeds from the sale contribute to the efforts of Save the Children in working for the Rights of the Child, as upheld by the United Nations. SCA programmes in Western Australia and overseas are supported by the annual book sale.
