21.01.2022 CASE STUDY | An injured worker from the Central Coast sought WIRO’s assistance after an insurer failed to determine a claim for treatment expenses and medical expenses. The 44 year old care worker claimed for custom orthotics and domestic assistance, but had not received a response for 3 months. Following contact from WIRO, the insurer approved domestic assistance and requested further information about the orthotics. The worker contacted WIRO three weeks later as the insur...er had still failed to determine the orthotics claim and the domestic assistance was yet to be provided. 16.01.2022 CASE STUDY | A woman from southern Sydney has had her claim for domestic assistance accepted after three years, thanks to WIRO’s intervention. The office worker who suffered an arm injury - was accepted as having 29% WPI. Unrelated to her claim, she had been given a dishwasher for her home but it had not been installed. Over the past three years, she made several requests for the insurer to pay for installation.... The insurer had two Activities of Daily Living reports, both of which recommended the insurer pay for installation. Despite this, the insurer had yet to pay for installation.
