17.01.2022 Get WISER August: The Science of Connection to Bring our Best Selves to Work, presented by Dr Jenny Brockis. Another great turnout for our August Get Wiser, sponsored by Subsea7. Dr Jenny had the audience mulling over questions on how to make a good day great and how we can nurture trust in our workplaces. The answers were all in line with TRAICE (Trust, Respect, Autonomy, Impartiality, Clarity and Empathy). By implementing TRAICE when interacting with each other it builds s...tronger connections in the work place and leads to a psychologically healthy working culture. The research has shown that psychologically healthy workplaces are up to 12% more productive and have higher employee retention. Humans are hard wired to connect with others and social pain (i.e. being left out or subbed) can leave deeper scars than physical pain, as well as fostering a negative environment. But, by taking the time to form meaningful connections with our co-workers utilising TRAICE, it is possible to nurture trust and make more good days great.

17.01.2022 Curtin looking to boost female scientists and engineers!

16.01.2022 Get WISER August: The Science of Connection to Bring our Best Selves to Work. Increasing automation of mundane tasks, complexity of work and increased workload coupled with high expectations from a more educated clientele is leading to higher stress levels that impact our cognition, health and relationships. Enter the science of connection. All business is in the business of relationships. The top skills needed identified for 2020 include emotional intelligence, social intell...igence, critical thinking and cognitive flexibility. Its time to consider why: Treating ourselves like machines, working harder and for longer is counterproductive; reducing performance, productivity and morale. What are the essential skillsets needed to flourish? How to stay human and optimise performance by using our own strengths and getting on well with others Join us to the discussion on the 21st of August from 12pm-1 pm. @ Subsea 7. 01.01.2022 On this International Womens Day (IWD); a global day celebrating the extraordinary achievements and contributions of women, the theme this year is #EachforEqual. Our Vision is to achieve gender equity through growing the profile of women in STEM. On IWD 2018 Wise launched the Wavemakers campaign https://lnkd.in/gHDjY4q celebrating the achievements of 12 women who have forged successful technical careers within the subsea and ocean industries. In 2020, we are working on our... Gender Inclusive Ways of Working (GI WOW) Project to deliver unique GI recommendations specific to our industry. Today, we would like to celebrate the achievements of Ada Lovelace, widely recognised as one of the worlds first computer programmers. Ada recognised the potential for computers to be used as not only calculation tools, but tools for collaboration. Think about that as you read this on your digital device! An equal world is an enabled world. As we celebrate the achievements of women like Ada, take a moment to consider how you can act to help create a gender equal world, to ensure that opportunity always exists for women to make their mark on the world that lies ahead of us. #womeninstem #wiseprofessionalnetwork #iwd2020wa
