22.01.2022 ? Think for a moment about what we expect from a new born baby that has been on the earth for 15 weeks. Not much ...right? Be fed, sleep (probably not through the night), burp and maybe start to roll over. Now let’s think of our expectations of a 15 week old puppy. Most pet parents expect a puppy to: Be fully house trained Come every time on cue Sit and wait for food Not jump up on guests Sit on cue Show impulse control Greet people appropriately Not bark at sounds and noises Be okay with a range of dogs Be crate trained Regulate emotions Show high levels of focus around distractions And this is just the beginning of what some clients ask me to help them achieve. For those literal thinkers, babies and dogs aren’t comparable, but what I hope you can take away from this post is that puppies are just babies and we need to consider what expectations are realistic. Dogs are highly intelligent creatures, and what’s crazy is that they can probably do all those things by 15 weeks of age. Training from a young ages is great for our dogs, but it’s important to keep in mind that mistakes may happen and that’s okay. Bombproof confidence and rock solid obedience comes with patience and consistency. I am definitely guilty of expecting too much too soon, but over time I’ve learnt that training mistakes often make for more solid results in the end. So enjoy it, laugh at it, take a breather when your puppy gets it wrong and ask yourself, would you be mad at your 15 week old baby for shitting on their bed?

11.01.2022 Claudia ( Wishgram Blue Claudia) and Boldi's ( Aquadane Count Boldizsar) puppies are just over a week old. Mother and babies are doing well with Claudia being a very loving and dedicated mother. All Puppies are SOLD.
