11.01.2022 FOR SALE It is with a tinge of sadness well known Queensland yacht Wistari is being offered up for sale. This living piece of Queensland’s sailing history wa...s designed and built by Noel Patrick and has been in the same family since first launched and kept in good seaworthy condition through two major rebuilds, many refits and regular maintenance. She was a design way ahead of her time and still very competitive under modern rating systems, cleaning up in Division 2 for the 2017 and 2018 Brisbane to Gladstone Races and still very capable of taking out first place overall in the right conditions. Capable of downwind speeds over 20 knots, she is very forgiving and a pleasure to sail in most conditions. Also very competitive around the cans on a Saturday afternoon with just a crew of four. Comes with a modern 7/8 Allyacht mast and boom, held up with a dyform rig. The racing sail wardrobe is comprehensive with a near new main, three headsails and a full range of five spinnakers, including two asymmetric. Set up for Cat 2/3 racing, there’s all the spare gear you could want. Away from the racing, she is also a great weekend cruiser with four berths and all the gear, that can be easily handled by a couple or even solo. The 2x80 litre water tanks, 70 litre fuel tank, fridge and onboard storage easily allows a week away without any need for reprovisioning. There’s plenty of cruising sails to choose from, a Yanmar 3 cylinder fresh water cooled engine, cockpit awning, boat cover, full instrumentation, autohelm, chart plotter, VHF and HF radios, stereo, etc. Includes a 8 ft tender to get to the moorings and can also throw in a 10 ft tinny for cruising. The bottom will be stripped and antifouled for sale no build-up to deal with. You also get a slipping trailer. She has passed an out of water survey with flying colours in 2018 for insurance purposes, being valued at $57,000. Just not using her enough and want her to go to a household that will appreciate, use and look after her in the way she was meant to be. 06.01.2022 Work almost finished preparing Wistari for another Brisbane to Gladstone Race. She's looking good. Had a sad moment putting a 'For Sale' sign on her yesterday. Guess will try a bit harder to sell her before we go on holidays in May for a couple of months.

03.01.2022 Just looked at the forecast again. Pretty much the perfect ride to Gladstone for Wistari. Haven't seen that since 2001 and that wasn't as good. Am officially crying! Time to go look at Hot Rods.
