12.01.2022 If your kids have any spare time today, we would love if they could participate in this activity. This is the last day to send in pictures and messages for our WIZO Kids Rosh Hashana activity. Please see below. Dear WIZO Kids & friends, With Rosh Hashana around the corner, it is usually a time to come together and celebrate the year we’ve had and look forward towards the future. Sadly, this year will be challenging for everyone not being able to share a meal with family an...d friends or go to shule, keeping up with our traditions. At WIZO Kids, we would love to see you participate in our special Rosh Hashana Activity. Currently Jewish Aged Care residents cannot have visitors so celebrating Rosh Hashana this year may be harder for them being alone. Let’s put a smile on their faces and deliver them a message of health and happiness and a beautiful picture to brighten their day. Each child draws or colours in a landscape A4 picture relating to Rosh Hashanah Write your child’s name in the bottom right-hand corner using a black pen / marker Scan and email the picture to [email protected] Please type a Special Rosh Hashana message when emailing the picture WE will print your picture, collate your message with it, laminate and deliver your gorgeous Rosh Hashana cards to Jewish Aged Care residents before Rosh Hashana. Please send in by the 8th September We hope as many of you can participate in our Rosh Hashana activity and the mitzvah of giving. Rachel Pitt and Lisa Sellyn (Co-presidents) Please contact Ruth at [email protected] for more information. See more

08.01.2022 *ISRAEL UPDATE* - Anita Friedman, Chairperson, World WIZO There is no easy or pretty way to characterize the events here in Israel in the past few hours and day...s, with escalating attacks from outside, chaos and violence inside our cities. We know that you are watching all this with deep concern. What we in here in WIZO can do is to care for those we serve and protect. In the middle of this chaos, we will continue to shine a light of love, tolerance and inclusion. That is our tradition, the WIZO way. To this, we are totally devoted and nothing will keep us from fulfilling our mission and obligation to Israeli society. What you can do is support Israel and WIZO in every way possible. Israel is being tested, and the solidarity of the Jewish people is being tested as well. We know that you, our sisters in dozens of countries around the globe, will always stand steadfastly behind us. Behind the State of Israel. Behind WIZO. With the escalating security threats, an increased number of WIZO projects and centers were closed yesterday (Wednesday): 117 day care centers, 6 of our schools and youth villages were partially or fully closed; and 72 WIZO Israel projects mainly centers and second hand clothing shops were closed as well. Thousands of Israeli children, youth, women and families were unable to benefit from WIZO's services for a second straight day.

06.01.2022 We want to wish you a Happy, Healthy and Sweet New Year. No-one could have predicted the year we have had but we hope you have managed to find gratitude daily, learned something new and valued family time. Look after yourself and your family, Shana Tova, ... Lisa Sellyn, Rachel Pitt and Ruth Kurc

02.01.2022 Thank you to our wonderful WIZO Kids who attended our event yesterday with @friendshipcirclemelbourne We learnt about the fabulous organisation they are- supporting kids with special needs and their families. We enjoyed making Superheroes whilst thinking about our superpowers - we are all good at some things and find other things hard. And remember, we can use our own Superpowers to help those who face challenges.
