14.01.2022 We are delighted at World League for Protection of Animals to report that adopted pets, Bagel and Pretzel, fostered by WLPA when their owners got caught overseas in COVID travel hassles, have now been sent by us to the United Kingdom and have arrived safely in the loving arms of Mary and Anthony who battled for 3 months to be reunited with their pets. Our wonderful foster carer, Brad from Gladesville, did a stunning job providing 3 months of care. I thank too, Struggle Town Vet and Pets on Crown vet for documentation cooperation and to Leanne and Michael of Aeropets for their splendid cooperation to get these cats on their flight. When you adopt a pet, 'an animal is for life', is our motto. Well done all.

14.01.2022 For those living in Canterbury Bankstown area please share this with your neighbours.... a great initiative from this council to put an end to the cycle of unwanted litters :)

05.01.2022 Hello from Lupa. Funny name but a gorgeous cat. We are helping out another charity doing it tough during the bushfires, then COVID then a key person in their group got Cancer. That charity has lovingly rescued little Lupa and some of her peers and they are being shown this weekend for adoption through WLPA Adoption Centre. We give other groups a hand whenever we can since after all, we all have cats and they all need homes. Adopters will be given the full service and same gua...rantee of health services and followup that all our cats, rabbits and dogs enjoy when adopted. We will also do the adoption as WLPA so there are tax benefits to your donation. We will also reimburse the other charity for all the health costs they have already paid for. All our animals are desexed, chipped, at least double vaccinated, dewormed and genuinely pre-loved by our rescue colleagues and ourselves. Don't you just love a tan tabby. See you 12 to 4 weekends, ring first from 12 noon only on 0409 741414 or 0407 456 683. Supporters of no kill charities for animals PLEASE SHARE for little Lupa to find her home. See more

04.01.2022 Winter has well and truly hit WLPA. This cat, recently surrendered to WLPA has additional vet expenses having arrived with advanced cat flu and drooling is distress. Please help support WLPA as we are possibly the founders of the no kill movement. We do not take the cheap option of killing. Instead, we help animals, ensuring they have immediate veterinarian treatment. The cat pictured is 10 years old. He is expected to return from the vet soon to be put in a special isolati...on room while recovering. All donations are tax deductible and its EOFY TAX TIME!! Donations electronically through Westpac Bank account # 282247 with BSB 032 184 are appreciated. Or cheques made out to THE WORLD LEAGUE FOR PROTECTION OF ANIMALS Inc can be receipted in time for you to submit your tax return and posted to PO Box 211 Gladesville NSW 2111. Please visit WLPA website where you may also donate with card or PayPal http://www.wlpa.org/donate/ Thanks for anything you can do. 100% of donations go to our animals directly as we are volunteer based with only 1 FTE paid position. Our funds are for foods and vet treatments. See more

03.01.2022 Our patron, Belinda Alexandra, has an article on her new book in today's Herald. Proceeds go to WLPA and makes a great Christmas gift to the cat lover in your life :)

03.01.2022 Donate a Dental November if WLPA dental month. We advise everyone with a cat over 3years of age to get their cat’s teeth checked by a vet. It is also helpful if all cat families watch out for signs of dental problems such as bad breath, dribbling, tongue protruding, grey teeth, swollen red gums and changes in what they eat. Can you donate a dental? So far this month Rosie, Jack Jack, Izelda and Lucy have been taken to vet for their dental and Friday Holly is off to hers. The... photo's are of Holly. Can you help Holly with the cost of her dental? It will be at least $400. Others in foster care will be next. The WLAP is very grateful to Dr. Donna Schofield for undertaking most of this work at a discounted rate. However the expense soon mounts up and the need for donations is great. If you can assist a cat in any way please donate via the Pa y Pal on the web site http://www.wlpa.org/ or electronic transfer to BSB 032 184 account 282247 at Westpac

01.01.2022 Request for volunteer foster carers! We need foster carers as we have more kitties and mums with bubs than safe havens to put them in. If you live on the North Shore/Ryde/Cherrybrook/Castle Hill/Gladesville area and have a place to keep some kitties safe until a permanent home can be found please get in touch. Fostering is all the love with none of the long term responsibility! Photo is of Honey... and yes she is available for adoption too!
