25.01.2022 National Police Remembrance Day, 2020 Today we celebrate and remember our colleagues that have served before and amongst us. Whilst we have lost some very publi...cly with the tragic events and deaths of four of our best in Melbourne, we have lost many privately as well. Any loss within our ranks is felt hard. We ask community to join us today in remembering those members of Victoria Police who have tragically and sadly lost their lives whilst serving to keep you, the community, safe in what is considered a challenging and difficult, but very rewarding job as a Victoria Police Officer. Thank you Paul Hargreaves Local Area Commander to Wodonga, Indigo and Towong

25.01.2022 "A father is someone who you look up to, no matter how tall you grow". This year, we might find ourselves apart from our family and our fathers' for a variety of reasons and it may be the first Father's Day that you are facing without your dad. We here at the Wodonga Cemetery Trust extend kind thoughts to all across this Father's Day weekend.... If you are looking for a way to celebrate your father, Tobin Brothers of Melbourne is inviting families to leave a message on their Tribute Wall and join them tomorrow for an online Father's Day Service at 4.30pm. For more information and to view the service visit:

23.01.2022 Keeping COVID-Safe: Thank you to everyone who has visited the Cemetery office this past week and followed social-distancing recommendations. Please remember there is a maximum of 3 people permitted in the reception area of the office. We care about your safety and have hand-sanitiser available at the front desk for use on your arrival. We are also requesting visitor details (first name and phone number) for those who attend the office for business or family history visits. ... Thank you all for helping the Trust keep you, your families, and our staff and their families safe.

23.01.2022 Many thanks to the team at Wodonga Men’s Shed who are working on a new public noticeboard for us.

21.01.2022 Please note the Cemetery Office will be CLOSED Friday 23 October due to the Victorian public holiday. Enjoy the long weekend fellow Victorians.

18.01.2022 This Father’s Day, we are thinking of you.

13.01.2022 The Board of Trustees were out bright and early this morning completing an inspection of the cemetery. Trust members meet regularly to inspect the grounds and action any works or repairs required to keep the cemetery well maintained.

09.01.2022 With thanks to Wodonga Men’s Shed who delivered and installed the new Cemetery notice board today - this is a fantastic edition to the office site and will provide visitors to the Cemetery with a map of the grounds and other important information.

07.01.2022 Today is National Dying to Know Day. Every year on August 8th, people all around the country come together to talk about and take action to better plan for their end of life experience. It’s never been more important than right now!

03.01.2022 Hello everyone in the Geocaching community! We had the unfortunate situation earlier this week at Wodonga Cemetery where a person looking for a cache had to be asked to remove himself from one of our gardens. All gardens in the cemetery are burial sites containing ashes. The person in question had climbed into the garden without permission and was rummaging around looking for a cache that was, by his own admittance, some 11m away.... Please do not do this. It is incredibly disrespectful to the families of the deceased who are interred with us, and is an offence to damage plants onsite. We here at the Cemetery Trust are community minded (some of us are geocachers ourselves), however we are certain you will agree that climbing into sites containing interments is completely inappropriate behaviour. Cache owners, please speak with the Trust Secretary ahead of placing caches onsite to determine suitability of placement. We are welcoming of thoughtful, clever, and interesting geocaches! The office onsite at the cemetery is open Monday - Friday, 10.00am - 3.00pm. You can reach the office anytime outside of these hours by emailing [email protected] The cache onsite in the lawn section of the grounds (located along the Finemores fence line) has been temporarily removed following the incident of this week. The cache is safe in the office if the owner would like to make contact so we can talk about placement and if any other caches are potentially too close to plots. We love having visitors to the cemetery who can enjoy the rich history of the grounds as much as we do, however please be mindful of treating the grounds with reverence. - Wodonga Cemetery Trust
