25.01.2022 INTRODUCTION We start our 21 days of prayer and fasting under lockdown. Lockdown has forced us to retreat into our personal private spaces. It has personalized our fight against Covid 19 to individuals and their immediate families. Believing in Christ is also first a personal commitment that no one can make for you. It’s a personal faith that no one can believe for you. It’s a personal journey that no one can walk for you. It’s a heart issue. That if thou shall confess with ...your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. Romans 10 : 9 For with the heart man believes into righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10 : 10 No one can get more personal or private than the heart. So our time of prayer and fasting is going to start with personal issues - issues of the heart. Knowing Jesus as Lord and Saviour is a personal matter. So let’s start there. Being a Christian and living a Christian life is personal. A personal decision, a personal faith and a personal walk with Christ. These lockdowns have made this point so clear - no Church, no home group no group of believers around you - just you and God. Sadly some people have never developed their own personal faith and personal walk with Christ and some have struggled to live as Christians without Church and friends checking on them or encouraging them. This time of prayer and fasting will strengthen your personal faith in the Lord Jesus and your personal life as a Christian. So let us begin. A time of prayer and fasting is a time to expect the following; 1. An opportunity to bring ourselves back to God and be closer (Hosea 10:12). 2. A time to dedicate the year and our lives this year into the hand of God. 3. A time to ask for God’s blessings on our lives, families, dreams and desires. 4. A time to let go of things in our lives that do not please God. 5. A time to hear the voice and direction of God as a church and individually. 6. A time to expect breakthrough in areas of barrenness, struggle and limitation. 7. A time to expect God to give you revelation and spiritual empowerment that will take your Christian walk to another level. #wolim
