18.01.2022 Our ecologist and tour guide Tom (from Hooked on Nature) has been caring for these two orphaned young birds - a Satin Bowerbird and Currawong. With their parents gone they have managed to survive the fire mostly unharmed and will be released when they are ready. We are thankful that everyone survived the inferno and all our cabins are all still standing. We are now trying to preserve the remaining wildlife areas to protect as many animals as possible. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the many RFS crews + city cousins that came before and after the fire to check we were ok. All our thoughts are with our neighbours who have lost property in this exceptional fire event.
