Over 65,000 Australians make a suicide attempt each year and in 2018, 3,046 Australians took their own life... Loosing someone you care about is always hard not knowing why is even harder.. so many questions and what ifs...this became a reality for us around 18 months ago when we lost someone very close to us One of the main drivers for opening our café was that we wanted a place that we could touch hundreds of people every day with a smile and ask them how they were doing..a vibrant community space, a place where people could come together in good times and in bad, a happy place with good vibes only... We wanted to create a happy comfortable place that when they walked through those doors they felt like that they had come home, that there were people here that they could talk to and that would listen.. if we can make one person happy everyday I feel as though we have succeeded.. So in honour of this we wanted to throw our support behind are you ok day. A day about creating a conversation that it’s ok not to be ok that there are people out there prepared to listen and along with that help if you need it...you only need to ask... Our goal is to raise at least 1k for the cause and in the process create awareness about mental health especially in these trying times never before have we needed each other than now! Huge shout out to the legends at Allpress Espresso and Country Valley for thier support and helping make this happen..
