24.01.2022 Please ring your local Councillor tonight or tomorrow. Our community overwhelmingly supported the road closure: for safety of walkers, cyclists and children playing and to connect our park to the creek.

22.01.2022 An interesting way to encourage social distancing. Can you see this taking off at Wolstencroft?

22.01.2022 This year would have been our 10th Wolstencroft Halloween, but like the rest of 2020, it hasn’t quite gone to plan. DHHS advice issued today advises groups no bigger than 10 should meet for Halloween, last year we had a couple of hundred. We’d love you to take a pic of your Halloween at home and share it with our community, but at this stage we cannot support a community event. Bring on 2021!... https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/halloween-update-covid-19-octob

20.01.2022 Happy Winter Solstice WAAGers! Dues to social distancing rules, we won’t be crafting lanterns at the park this evening, which is a shame. Maybe you could make some at home today instead? All you need is an old jar, some glue and some coloured tissue paper or cellophane. Take a pic of your finished lantern and show us in the comments

18.01.2022 Hi everyone. PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE! Remember to send a submission on the road closure by August 24 to Brett Martini, Manager Engineering [email protected] The Master Plan developed by Council showed that a large majority of our community support closing the road, to allow for naturalisation of the creek, to improve safety for walkers and cyclists and the safety of children using the completed Wolstencroft Park. What a brilliant community asset. Let's make even safer and more beautiful.

15.01.2022 Hey Wolstencrofters! We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. We’re so grateful to have a space like Wolstencroft available to spend time with our families in the fresh air. ... We ask you to remember that slowing the spread is about keeping your family safe, but also others in the community that may be at greater risk. Before heading to the park, please ensure that you are not showing any symptoms. Please consider the impact you might be having on the elderly or immuno-compromised members of our community. A reminder during this time of COVID-19, that where possible to please stay at home, but if you are at Wolstencroft please make sure you’re taking care around the tables and playground area and to keep an appropriate distance from other families at the park. We look forward to the next Wolstencroft community celebration some time in the future!

14.01.2022 One year ago we were able to release this vision of our future park! Looking forward to a beautiful play space, a space for people instead of parked cars.

11.01.2022 Hi Wolstencrofters! It's local election time. Voted yet? Here are the current Councillors who have been supportive of our park: In Eppalock Ward Margaret O'Rourke and Susie Hawke. In Lockwood Jennifer Alden and Rod Fyffe. In Whipstick Ward James Williams and Malcom Pethybridge. A special non mention goes to a certain ex Councillor who is running again in Eppalock Ward and actively opposed our park for years. Please do not vote for her: She has extreme and bigoted views on a whole range of issues. For more info on the new crop of local candidates head to the Bendigo Sustainability Group page and tune into their Councillor Forums. See you soon in the park!

08.01.2022 How joyful was this to see at Wolstencroft?!

06.01.2022 Wolstencrofters! Look at this! We're off and racing! Place space, landfill rehab and timelines ... Images of the bulletin in the comments.

06.01.2022 Guess what just happened folks! The City of Greater Bendigo just put up the draft 20/21 budget and there is $975,000 for Stage 1 of Wolstencroft Park! Tell them that is great (Link in comments). And tell them to find stage 2 as well! Our park is coming! So exciting! And we can’t even have a party! Huge virtual high fives to the hundreds of brilliant local people who have spent years and years making this happen. It’s happening!! Woo hoo!!

05.01.2022 ANZAC Day will feel very different this year. To encourage some ANZAC spirit, the CoGB are encouraging musicians to play from their driveways. At 6am on Saturday morning, an accomplished musician will be playing over the North East end of Wolstencroft Park. If you happen to be completing your essential walk at that time, or live nearby, you will hopefully be able to hear it. The Last Post will be played at 6am, followed by 1 minutes silence, followed by the song Rouse.... Wishing you and your families a safe Anzac Day. See more

05.01.2022 Hi everyone. What a beautiful sunny winters day! You will all have received a letter from the City about the Havlin St East road closure. Please send a response. The Master Plan developed by Council showed that a large majority of our community support closing the road, to allow for naturalisation of the creek, to improve safety for walkers and cyclists and the safety of children using the completed Wolstencroft Park. It's also worth pointing out that the numbers of people using the path are steadily growing: 12,000 people used the path in April 2020: that's 400 people per day, more than the number of cars that use the road. What a brilliant community asset. Let's make even safer and more beautiful. Please send a submission by August 24 to Brett Martini, Manager Engineering [email protected]

05.01.2022 Hi everyone. Things are progressing for Wolstencroft park! Council will be doing further engagement on a detailed design for the play space in late May. The landfill capping design is in progress and will hopefully be ready to go in July. As for construction timelines, that will depend on an updated Council budget post COVID 19. Might be worth a call or an email to our friendly local Councillors to remind them about our Park.

04.01.2022 This is where the trumpeter will be set up tomorrow morning. Playing the Last Post from 6am, followed by one minute's silence and then the Rouse. We hope all your families have a safe ANZAC day.

03.01.2022 Neighbours can be so awesome to one another! Here’s to all the great Wolstencrofters who bring our community together.
