25.01.2022 Do you think that appearing on podcasts is the next step for you but feel scared about sharing your voice? I used to sing in my school choir and we were taught to blend, to be as a unified voice. This is such an important lesson to practice, but my voice was still aching to be heard, seen and noticed. My primary school music teacher’s vision extended to seeing me as one of the crowd on stage in a show. Which is wonderful and for many people, a vision strong enough! But MY s...pirit, my heart wanted to be heard as part of the crowd AND as a leader of the crowd. Something else inside was telling me not to be too big. Too loud, too much. My place as a girl was to be polite, a good listener and fall in line. In my professional life, as a dancer, singer, actor, I wasn’t getting those opportunities to use my voice. So the messages I started telling myself was that my voice wasn’t good enough, that it wasn’t strong enough to be an individual voice. I then pushed myself to learn, develop and grow through private vocal coaching and acting class. And eventually decided at 22 years old, that screw it! If I wasn’t getting given the opportunities I wanted to have my voice heard, I was was going to make my voice matter my way. To create an opportunity where my voice and stories could be centre stage. So, I wrote a story of this journey with song and called it Half Full the trials and tribulations of growing up in a world where one girl trying to do her best in a world that often isn’t. And I’ve been exercising my voice ever since. If your challenge is around public speaking imagine what life would be like if: You felt prepared and safe when you stepped up to the mic You knew how to make space for the intense sensations in your body leading up to the share You had influence over whether you let the intensity engulf you or carry you forward with grace Just imagine what would it be like if you were out there feeling the freedom to share your voice! My WomanSpeak public speaking circle is for you if: You feel like what you have to say doesn’t matter much You think that all the things you can share have already been said so well by so many You’re willing to commit to your growth and development Because here’s the truth, I learned at 22. No one has YOUR particular blend of experience No one has the information and insights that live in YOUR body No one else has YOUR voice nor comes from the long lineage of YOUR ancestors What you have to say matters and needs to be heard in the world And no time is better than right now to share your message, it matters. Come along to my first WomanSpeak circle online in August. Jump on the invite list below https://mailchi.mp/c54b7bb3dea8/womanspeak-interest-page

19.01.2022 #introduction Hi, I’m Bec, and I believe your voice needs to be heard I’m a curious, friendly, and creative storyteller who also believes in the power of harnessing our innate creativity to be an unstoppable force for good. ... As a performing artist, I’ve kicked a leg alongside Hugh Jackman and worked deeply with director George Miller during the filming of the Oscar-winning film Happy Feet. I’ve fought to be the top 1% of artists who wrangle their dreams into reality. And learned that the competition is fierce, and you can play in that space if you want, BUT there is a better way of living. Through my two decades of teaching practice with emerging performing, I know how to hold space for women and girls to feel deeply held, seen and heard. It's through these experiences that I’ve learned the power of women in support of each other, NOT in competition with each other. These days, my ambitions are to be a whole-hearted mother, wife and community leader who takes a stand for women, where they may not be a stand for themselves, yet. When I’m not leading WomanSpeak circles you’ll find me making music, crafting impactful words as a copywriter and creating voice-overs for big-hearted brands. I’m thrilled you’re here to learn more about this work. And, I invite you to come along to my next free intro session to really get a taste of its profound and transformative energy. Let’s do this!
