22.01.2022 BUT with employment volatility expected, it's possible the gender pay gap could increase again, says Libby Lyons.

21.01.2022 Five domestic and family violence survivor advocates have penned a joint letter to members of the government’s Expenditure Review Committee, detailing why specialist frontline services need to be properly funded in tonight’s federal budget.

20.01.2022 "My daughter is worried about her friend who has started dieting in order to lose weight fast. She has tried explaining to her friend that she is making herself ill (apparently, she is getting dizzy) but the friend insists she is fat. How can my daughter best manage this?"

20.01.2022 As for Morrison and his supposed quest to respect, protect and reflect when it comes to women’s safety, spare us the BS. If you want to respect women, don’t send senior ministers like Dutton out to undermine their courage. If you want to protect women, implement some measures to address the crisis head on. If you want to reflect, don’t tell us you need your wife to remind you how to lead with empathy.

20.01.2022 Last night at a #ChiefExecutiveWomen event, Shemara Wikramanayake spoke of her trajectory and a "natural resilience" which has seen her rise to the top of Australia's corporate world. If anyone had told me as a child that I couldn’t fulfil my various childhood ambitions to be an astronaut, or pilot or James Bond due to my gender or ethnicity, I would have dismissed their views as irrational. This was my form of resilience.

19.01.2022 "Mr Treasurer, you have called for population growth and for more women to start having babies to help build the economy. Well, I have come to the party. The COVID-double. New puppy and baby, due 2021. But there are things that are working against me here..."

18.01.2022 Flu season is coming up! Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from the Flu. Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations far less lethal!!! Trump posted on the social media platforms.

18.01.2022 The Federal Budget is the Government’s most important policy tool, but it doesn’t do much for gender equality. In the days of a she-cession, it needs a feminist overhaul and focused attention on young women.

16.01.2022 On Wednesday night, the Senate narrowly passed a bill that will see the Family Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit Court merge into a single, generalised court structure.

13.01.2022 If a pandemic won’t get workers to call in sick, then what will?

11.01.2022 The $240 million for 'women's economic security' is not on one program. Not even on one key agenda. But rather on everything from women’s safety at home and at work, to Cadetships to entrepreneurialism and jobs creation.

10.01.2022 An online memorial commemorating the lives and stories of Australian women and children lost to violence was launched this week.

09.01.2022 "I am a politician, a psychologist and a former bodybuilder. I am also a survivor of domestic violence. It’s the reason I am fighting hard to amend the laws to ensure that no strata management can unreasonably stop an animal living with their families."

09.01.2022 Our generosity must extend beyond a commitment to sharing a global vaccine. We also have a moral responsibility to help those hardest hit around the world, particularly in our region.

09.01.2022 Can you help? We're running a quick poll on women's health, especially on SLEEP! The survey takes 4 minutes and we'll be publishing the results in our new Women's Health Hub. You can also share what women's health issues you'd love to see covered and explored.

08.01.2022 My fist was raised as I entered the Senate chamber as an expression of my people’s strength, resilience and survival and a symbol of solidarity with all the families of Aboriginal people who have died in custody, Senator Lidia Thorpe said. I carried with me a message stick bearing a single mark for each of the 441 First Nations people who have died in custody since the Royal Commission in 1991. I am determined to work hard for justice in this place, every day.

07.01.2022 We are doing this again! FINALLY! Nominate the emerging leaders that you know, as well as the heroes of the frontline and the agenda-setters that helped us get through 2020 and beyond. AND ENTER YOURSELF! We'll be celebrating how women have defined the year we’ve just had, and how women will take us forward into the critical decade ahead. The final event may look a little different to the below, but that won't stop us from getting more women heard.

06.01.2022 Born in Sydney, Margaret Xhang started a fashion blog at 16. Now? She’s Vogue's youngest ever editor in chief at age 27. She’s changing the international magazine game.

05.01.2022 Consider this. The country is facing the worst recession in three decades. The budget, to bring the nation through this unprecedented economic and social turmoil, is the biggest in history. More than $600 billion will be allocated. Now this recession, triggered by a global pandemic, has hit 51% of the population particularly badly. On the frontline. In the economic fallout. At home. So how much would you think would be allocated to women? Who comprise slightly more than half ...the population, who have carried Australia through this pandemic and have borne the brunt of the adverse financial implications? The woefully inadequate and truly shameful number is $240 million. To. Be. Spent. Over. Five. Years. Consider that $26 billion is being allocated to allowing businesses to write off the value of assets. That $250 million is being spent on recycling. That $61 million is being allocated to school chaplains. And women get 0.0385% of the spend.

04.01.2022 While social media plays a crucial role in connecting us with our loved ones irrespective of geography, it’s also the culprit behind thousands of women being abused, according to new research by Plan International Australia

03.01.2022 If the Federal budget is aimed at getting Australians back into work - and keeping Australians in work - as promised by the Treasurer it will deliver for women, Georgie Dent writes. Making high quality early education & care free would be a home run. It would create more jobs for women, make it easier for more women to work and give children the best possible start to life. A win, win, win.

03.01.2022 The Morrison government is reportedly considering a scheme which would allow businesses to claim back tax paid on last year’s profits, to be announced in tonight's budget. What would this mean for female-owned small business?

02.01.2022 "If this year has taught me anything, it’s that female entrepreneurs need an inner circle," writes Christina Hobbs from Verve Super "I survived 2020 by leaning on others and I know our business is stronger for the support we gave back to women in our community."
