22.01.2022 Hi All, As we head towards the finish line of what has been a very different and unprecedented year, let’s end with a flourish and maybe change things up a bit. To help you in that endeavour, please see attached the November Action for Happiness Calendar that outlines some inventive ways to approach things.... Enjoy, Peter

10.01.2022 What an amazing morning we have had at Wondai SS!! A Massive thanks to the Murgon Men's Shed for bringing over 'Red' and the Cinderella carriage for our fairy tale themed book week. The smiles on the students (and staff) faces were priceless.

08.01.2022 Dear Parents/Caregivers, As many of you would be aware, there is a storm forecast for this afternoon. As per our Wondai Emergency Response Plan, should a storm occur at or near 3pm students will remain in class under staff supervision until the storm has passed.... Parents who arrive at school to collect their children at this time are asked to wait until the storm has passed. If you are intending to collect your child or children early, Please ring ahead. However, please do not run through the rain to enter the school as this becomes a health and safety issue. Thank you for your assistance in keeping yourselves and our children safe.

05.01.2022 CONCERNS ABOUT STUDENT ROAD SAFETY Dear Parents/Caregivers, It was brought to my attention by a concerned parent that a number of our children were walking down the middle of the roads and crossing roads dangerously both to and from school. I contacted Sgt Fewtrell form the Wondai Police and he looked at camera footage provided by the cameras in the community. The images that Sgt Fewtrell sent me are deeply concerning to say the least. Students walking directly down the middl...e of the roads. Vehicles having to actually come to a halt on the road as students walk leisurely in front of them. This post is not about children or parents getting into trouble. This is about ensuring our children arrive at school and home from school safely on a daily basis. This is about protecting lives and being respectful to the motorists who are being required to put themselves and their families in danger by having to come to a stop in the middle of the road as students walk casually in front of them. I will speak with all children generally and remind them all about road safety and being safe in our community and on our roads. Can I please ask that as parents and caregivers you also have these important conversations? If this behaviour continues I will be asking Sgt Fewtrell to use the footage to investigate further and if necessary, speak with the children and families involved. Road Safety is everyone’s business, and I would like to sincerely thank the concerned parent who initially brought this information to my notice. I would also like to thank Sgt Fewtrell for his quick support and actions to ensure our children are being safe. Peter Sansby - Principal
