21.01.2022 Thanks to all the parents who helped out on Saturday morning....especially the U/9 boys and parents who stayed behind to help pack up. Results are a little delayed this week and will be prossessed by Tuesday. A reminder that there is no local meet next week (15thFeb) due to the Regional Championships. We wish all our athletes competing next weekend all the very best.

13.01.2022 Congratulations to the 12 Wonthaggi Little Aths athletes who have qualified for the State Track and Field Championships on 14/15th March 2020.

13.01.2022 BREAKING: The 2020 State Track & Field Championships and State Cross-Country Championships have been cancelled. Eligible Centres are able to still operate cross-country programs. Read More: https://lav.lc/64u

10.01.2022 It’s Program C this week, which means we have walks starting at 8.30. Any athlete in the Under 9’s to 16’s who wishes to compete, please be on time. The Under 7’s families are also asked to be there by 8:15/8:30am to assist with setting up. The duties involved are;- racking the sandpit- wiping out shot put/discus areas- set up high jump mats and hurdles if applicable- putting out equipmentPlease note a parents or guardians must stay at the oval and with children at all times.Everyone else is asked to arrive by 8.45 for warm up and announcements. See you all tomorrow

09.01.2022 Our final meet for the season. Only 31 competitors due to the long weekend but 49 PBs. Timing solutions donated 50c for every PB across the state to the victims of the bushfire so well done to those that achieved PBs. Special mention to our only U/ 16 athlete Alicia Smith on her last day as a Little Athlete. A great girl and role model to the younger children. Presentation will be held at the track on Friday 20th March. Bring a picnic and socialise beforw the presentations begin. 5.30 picnic. 6pm presentations. We have an under cover venue if the weather is poor.

07.01.2022 Meet 14. Part 2

07.01.2022 Thank you to those members who came to our AGM yesterday afternoon. For the season to commence we are still after 1 or 2 COVID safety officers. If you don’t want to be on the committee but would like to help at Saturday’s meet then please get in contact with us. You can share it between a couple of you. We look forward to starting 2020/21 season soon

06.01.2022 Tomorrow’s meet brings to a close a wonderful and wet 2019/2020 season. We hope everyone has enjoyed the season and the committee would like to thank those who continued to help run Wonthaggi Little Athletics. This week it is Program A, which means long hurdles. Athletes doing long hurdles should arrive and be ready to go at 8:45am. Our Under 8 parents are on set up duty. Please arrive by 8:15am to help set up. The duties involved are;- racking the sandpit- wiping out shot ...put/discus areas- set up high jump mats and hurdles if applicable- putting out equipment. Please note parents or guardians must stay at the oval and with children at all times. Everybody else should be there by 8:45 for warm up and announcements. It was terrific once again to see lots of parents stepping up to help out. This leads to a smoother meet and many groups completing their events very quickly. A new committee will need to be elected for 2020/2021 season. So please think about stepping forward so Wonthaggi Little Athletics can run in the 2020/2021 season. Roles that will need to be filled are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar, Regional Delegate, Uniform Officer and General Committee. Don’t forget presentation night will be held on Friday 20th of March an is a fantastic way to celebrate the children’s achievements. BYO picnic blanket, chair and food. See you all tomorrow

04.01.2022 Tomorrow will be our final week for 2020. Our U10's & U11's are on set up and pack up duties. Please arrive by 8:30am to help set up. After Saturday's meet we will have a 2 week break to recharge and head into 2021 on the 9th January with State Combined events and regionals to look forward to. 03.01.2022 Fantastic weekend of competition for our athletes at the Gippsland Country Region Championships. Every athlete put in maximum effort and all came away with at least one medal or a PB. Aiden Smyth not only won the high jump but also broke the regional record. All athletes that competed will meet on Saturday at little aths for a for a team photo. 01.01.2022 Hi All, Firstly, we would like to thank everyone for their patience throughout this trying time with COVID-19. On that note, we the committee are excited to announce we have an AGM Date and Time VIA Zoom.... All members will be emailed a login access and instructions. This season will be run very differently to previous years due to COVID-19. LAVic have put protocols in place and they will need to be followed each week. So, we hope to see you all on zoom at 4pm on 15th November. RSVP is not mandatory however it would be greatly appreciated if you could let us know if you plan on attending We really need to see new faces on our committee helping run our Little Aths Centre if we are to run a 2020/21 season.
