24.01.2022 Planning meeting Tonight 7:30pm WWC

24.01.2022 Statement from the Gippsland Soccer League: On 29 June the GSL Club Delegates decided they were prepared to fight on for a 2020 season and up until 24 hrs ago, ...the likelihood of our juniors commencing looked promising. Following the events of the last 24 hrs such as contact training for seniors being deferred a couple of reported Covid19 cases within our region for the first in a very long time. Clubs were starting to express their reservations and the GSL were reduced to 3 clubs willing to continue at a junior level. The general mood among the GSL members started to shift. Bearing all this in mind it has been decided to cancel the 2020 GSL season. The GSL would like to express their sincere thanks and acknowledge the Club Committee members and volunteers who have worked tirelessly in difficult and uncertain circumstances. COVID is not leaving us anytime soon and the new protocols will become the new norm on how we manage our clubs into the future. Drouin Dragons SC will now suspend all training and club activities until further notice.

24.01.2022 HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!! We will finally have somewhere to place this cup! Thanks to Jordan Crugnale MP, the Victorian State Government and the Bass Coast Shire Council the Wonthaggi United Soccer Club was awarded a $500,000 World Game Grant to build new Club facilities this morning. This grant, combined with a significant contribution from the Bass Coast Shire Council and the Soccer Club, will enable new club rooms and lighting facilities to be built at the Wonthaggi Recreation R...eserve. A huge thank you to Mark Lindsay, Jordan Crugnale and their teams for making this dream a reality. Also a special thank you to the Committee and Club members over the years whose contributions to this project were instrumental. Now it’s time to get those fundraising caps on and start chasing down sponsors for this project. Stay tuned Soccer Fans 2021 is going to be huge. See more

07.01.2022 THE WORLD GAME just got better Great to be with Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence MP announcing a massive $4.9M boost for football facilities across... the state. Here in Bass - $500K for Wonthaggi Rec Reserve. Such fabulous news for Wonthaggi United Soccer Club, all clubs in the Gippsland Soccer League and Football Victoria. New A-Grade facilities incl female friendly change rooms, a referees room, canteen, accessible toilet and first aid and storage rooms. Plus 100-lux lighting for Oval 2. It will grow this great game, get more women and girls onto the pitch and importantly will match the talent and inclusive focus of this proud club. We get to today because of the hardwork of many so thank you to the Club’s committee, volunteers, members and their sponsors, the Sport and Recreation team at Council, GippSport, Gippsland Soccer and the Bass Coast Shire Council.
