18.01.2022 Hey guys Thought I'd finally share a picture of the finished product of this enormous woven goddess I finished quite a while ago now (my belly looks so tiny, and has now grown twice the size) I haven't shared it because every time I tried to write a post about it, I would get super emotional ~ but in the most beautiful way That's the power of art right? ... Basically the story behind it is the very centre weaving of this was done by @thismidwifelife and her closest friends and family for a blessingway for her 5th baby, which was now 9 years ago. She wanted something special done around it, so I evoked my magic and the rest was created. This mandala was definitely the most challenging thus far, but the growth and beauty (both internally and externally) that came from this changed my life, both as an artist and person. I could really go on and on and on about the long journey and emotional ride I went on with creating this, because the intense depth of emotion and stories woven within this are really magical and sacred. But I won't because at the moment I am happy to leave that beautiful exchange between myself and my beautiful friend/midwife/inspiration (and there's also not enough room on here for a novel ). 02.01.2022 You are so valued and appreciated This is what I have been trying to embed in my mind the last few days. The past week has been a bit hard for me. And I'm only writing this because I know that most of you will have felt this way at some point in your life. So I know you feel me Feeling undervalued and unappreciated as a woman, a Mother, a partner, business owner. Any of these hit a spot? Trying to run a business from home is soooooo hard sometimes! Being a creative bus...iness is even harder, because creativity doesn't just come. You need time and space to feel that shit, let it come to you. I don't get that time and space. Something that should literally take me 3 hours to make, takes me 3 days. Maybe longer. I have paying customers, waiting ever so patiently for their handmade product. Something that can only be made by me. Yet no one at home seems to think that Mummy has a 'job', because Mummy doesnt go anywhere for her job. Mummy does her job when she can, in between the 10000 other daily tasks that Mummy does to keep everything running smoothly. I've been feeling sooo frustrated and impatient the last few days because W+W is THE busiest it's ever been, and I can't do things at the pace in which I need to. And for some reason I thought that I needed some type of validation and appreciation from my family for all that I do. The frustration was becoming so debilitating, and I thought I needed someone else to cheer me on. But what I have realised is that I haven't been validating and appreciating myself! I need to cheer myself on and remember that I am amazing and doing a stella fucking job at this life And be grateful that I am who I am and I have what I have. All the little things we do, all the big things we do, all the things we dont do, most of the time gets lost in the abyss. But if you can bring that love and attention back within and rememeber your worth you'll be on top again. You are valued. You are appreciated. You are fucking metahuman And I feel you. I would not change a single thing about my life. Sometimes it can just be a little bit hard.... I know you feel me
