25.01.2022 a short excursion to Cradle Mountain - the Dove Lake walk was closed due to impending bad weather, but we enjoyed the ancient forest with the pencil pines- turned into a winter wonderland the next morning!

22.01.2022 If anybody wants to visit the studio, send me an email, basically I am open every morning, but we stopped putting the sign out since there are no tourists around... woodbridge.weaving@ yahoo.com.au

15.01.2022 After a couple of isolation weeks with double pick up weaving I feel I have learnt to do it! Never loose hope!

15.01.2022 snow on the mountain- what a treat!

14.01.2022 now is the time for an alpaca cocoon!

13.01.2022 I have embarked on a series of small tapestries inspired by my Corona walks. This first one depicts the fireworks of the medlar tree, ablaze with pinks, orange and gold. When you are in isolation, you have to make do with what you have, be it the warp( I would have preferred a finer one) or the wefts from many different makes and backgrounds. But I'm pretty happy with the result.

06.01.2022 still working on my learning project of double pick up weave. This week's effort ended up pretty pleasing, but there are still a couple of mistakes. Aiming for perfection, not easy!

03.01.2022 After spending most of the winter perfecting the double pick up weave, I have come to the conclusion that this doesn’t suit all temperaments.Doesn‘t matter that it takes a long time and unpicking takes even longer, but in the end when you are proud of your achievement, turning your work over to see the opposite colours you discover...even having checked with the mirror one doesn‘t see all the stuck threads! Nevertheless, the experience was worth while and I have learnt a lot from it. An advice to anybody who wants to try it: a well twisted cotton or linen warp will not stick and might bring less disappointments!

01.01.2022 Wonderful tree fern patterns!

01.01.2022 For the people who followed my painful efforts of learning the double sided pick up weaving technique, I would like you to see my latest efforts, done confidently without mistakes! These are historical subjects from embroidery patterns, and now I feel able to do my own designing...there isn’t much warp left!
