25.01.2022 Today at Woodend EL&K we were very fortunate to have special guests Kerri Douglas and Dani Speak from Koorie Engagement Support visit our Prekinder children for some fun ochre painting! We learned how to make the ochre paint and made some wonderful prints on the outdoor garden beds, as well as some face painting. 23.01.2022 Our childrens Christmas party is on tomorrow night Wednesday the 11th. From 6pm until 7pm with Santa making an appearance at 6:45. We will be putting on a sausage sizzle we are asking for a gold coin donation for the sausages in bread. All money raised will be donated to the Woodend cfa. We have Hey Dee Ho performing and there will also be a coffee van there. Please like or comment if your family will be attending so we can roughly know numbers for catering please. We hope to see you all there.

Our new Joey has been given the name "Hope" with 66% of poll votes. We will post photos and updates about how she is growing and developing when we receive these from her carer. 21.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS TO JESS!!! Jess is this years Educator of the Year for Woodend EL&K! Jess was ecstatic to receive her award and moved to hear all the kind words of appreciation from families. Well done Jess, we are so grateful to have you on the team and Woodend EL&K!!

18.01.2022 With much excitement we celebrated Halloween today, a huge event for our families with the town participating in the Community park Halloween party tonight. We have attached the photos for our Halloween door challenge and would like all of our families to vote for a winner. 18.01.2022 Hi Families, Thursday September 26th we will have a Footy Day in celebration of the AFL Grand Final. Children are encouraged to wear their team colours and we will have a menu change with a special sausage sizzle as a treat for lunch. Please note that the centre will be closed on Friday September 27th for the Grand Final Public Holiday. We hope all of our families enjoy the game and have a great long weekend.

16.01.2022 Hello Families! Thank you to everyone who has been collecting the bread tags for our "Bread Tags For Wheelchairs Charity." So far we have almost half a jar of bread tags saved but we need more! Please hold onto your plastic bread tag ties and bring them into the centre so that they can be used for making wheelchairs for children and adults in South Africa! Plus you will be doing your bit for the environment and keeping them out of landfill!

13.01.2022 Hello Families! We are very excited to announce the newest arrival to Woodend EL&K, our little adopted joey! The Green Heros special project aids injured wildlife and requires funds for supplies such as fabric pouches, formula, bottles, teats, ointments etc. Through this project we were able to show our support and adopt this special little girl. Now we need your help! She is yet to have a name, so we are hoping that our families, children and educators could help us out. ...Comment below with your ideas for our joeys name, or if someone has commented with a name that you like, simply like their comment. We will also be having discussions with children at the centre to get some name ideas. The top 2 name suggestions will be made available next week via a facebook poll. 09.01.2022 Hi Families, Great News! We have received the following news from our little joeys carer. Hope is now strong enough to be released into the wild! "Good morning to the team at Woodend ELC. Hope has grown into a strong and healthy kangaroo over the last month. Her carer has found her a beautiful property on which she can be released into the wild to enjoy her life with other kangaroos! ... The carer has sent me these photos of Hope and her buddy, just before they left in the car - to be transferred. 07.01.2022 ATTENTION ALL FAMILIES: Welcome to the beautiful spring weather! This means that we now require all children to wear sun smart protective clothing. This includes a clearly labelled sun smart hat (wide brim or legionnaire) and tops that cover the shoulders. The centre provides and applies sunscreen to all children, however if your child requires a specific brand of sunscreen, please provide it to the centre and see office staff for the correct documentation.

07.01.2022 Hello Families! We hope that you have all enjoyed book week! It was great to see children and educators all dressed up and getting into this celebration of literature! Each year we run a competition at the centre for the best decorated book week door. Educators put a lot of their time and effort into decorating these and making them festive for the children. We love them all and need your help to decide which door wins our prestigious Book Week trophy. Please cast your votes below by commenting with the door that you believe should win.
