23.01.2022 Some very lucky filmmakers will be recognised for their excellent work with these very special, one-off trophies. Made from the timber of the now lost Sugar Pine Walk, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank Annemarie @bottleandbrushstudio for her simple yet elegant design, Geoff Allen and the Tumut Men's Shed for the timber and handiwork and @littlewoodsigns for the custom wood engraving. Good luck to all filmmakers, we have a cracking lineup this year.... #woodlandtrophies #trophiesforest #sugarpinewood #sugarpinewalk #shortfilmfestivaltrophies #tumutmensshed #treetrophy #woodlandfilmfestival2021 @arbourfestival

18.01.2022 Got tickets but what do I wear ? What is this ‘Creative Black Tie’? We hear you... Think fancy frocks, formal with flair this is Snowy Valleys Academy Awards and best excuse to dust off a tuxedo, show off your finest fascinator, dress UP and celebrate. The red carpet and paparazzi awaits. FASHIONS IN THE FOREST: Prizes will be awarded for best dressed sir, madam and creative outfits inspired by fancy in the forest theme. LOCAL TIPS: The forest cools off at sunset and ...mosquitoes can be friendly. Do bring jacket/cape/boa/masquerade along with picnic blanket. Snappy boots may be better for the location vs sparkly Stilettos given our natural forest/ field setting The complete Field Guide to Woodland 2021 will be emailed to ticket holders this week and shared here. 2 weeks We Can’t W A I T See more

17.01.2022 It’s almost SHOWTIME! See you Saturday at 5:30 pm in your glitziest/ creative Woodland themed/ black tie getup with your ticket, cash for bar and snacks, ready for a fine night at our festival. It’s been 5 long years but Woodland is BACK.

15.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Location change. We've made the difficult decision to relocate our beautiful event to a different venue in Tumbarumba to keep you safe, and dry. Check your email for all details on where you need to be when for this spectacular night. We have alittle more work to do now but SO EXCITED to share it all in 2 sleeps! Get ready to laugh, cry, sigh and make merry... and not to have to swat mozzies or sink in your stillettos! See you SOON!

14.01.2022 It is with heavy hearts that the Woodland Film Festival crew are to postpone the bi-annual Woodland Film Festival. If the Tumbarumba mountain stars align there’ll be a 5th edition festival back on for winter 2019. As a grass roots festival that is produced out of love by a small and dedicated crew, organisers aren’t prepared to deliver a sub-standard festival so have decided to put it on ice until other commitments subside. The festival directors appreciate the support fr...om their community, festival goers and filmmakers from across the world who’ve made Woodland Film Festival the unique and *nearly* famous event its become. We want to thank everyone who’s been involved over the first few Woodland years and encourage aspiring filmmakers to keep the dream alive! It’s clear the event is not retired but rather paused to strengthen and gather momentum for future editions. If anyone is keen to be part of Woodland Film Festival in the future, or has feedback or would simply show support for it, please email John at [email protected] or Laura at [email protected] We hope that Woodland can make a comeback sometime very soon!

07.01.2022 hey old Woodland friends, in the absence of an official Woodland Film Festival, we do have some other great film and food events in Tumbarumba this winter. Check out all the information over at cafe-nest.com /fb / insta

07.01.2022 We have news! Woodland is making a comeback. Returning for a special 5th edition, in summer and in the ACTUAL FOREST. After 4 winter festivals and 4 years of Woodland 'on ice', a big bad bushfire has given us another reason to get back on with the show. Made possible by funding from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal in partnership with the Pratt Foundation. Woodland is returning as part of the Arbour Festival - a 50 day festival of growth and renewal at the Pi...lot Hill Arboretum. We are stoked to be back and creating for our community. Hope you can all be part of it- Mark your calendar Jan Feb 2021! Film entries open to anyone across the world this Friday at FilmFreeway.com Anyone being school kids with iphones, or pro's with the latest Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro, you're all invited to enter. More details to come. YIPPEEE See more
