24.01.2022 A customer asked me how much it cost to do this job.... I answered him: $ 1500 He said: So expensive for this job? I asked: How much do you think it would cost you? He answers me: $ 800 maximum... That's a pretty simple job right? !"... - For $ 800 I invite you to do it yourself. - But.... I don't know how to. - For $800 I'll teach you how to. So besides saving you $700, you'll get the knowledge for the next time you want - It seemed right to him and he agreed. - But to get started: you need tools: A welder, grinder, chop saw, drill press, welding hood, gloves etc... - But I don't have all these equipment and I can't buy all of these for one job. - Well then for another $300 more I'll rent my stuff to you so you can do it. - Okay, he says. - Okay! Tuesday I'm waiting for you to start doing this work - But I can't on Tuesday I only have time today. - I'm sorry, but I'm only available Tuesday to teach you and lend you my stuff. When you pay for a job, especially handcrafted, you pay not only for the material used, but also: - Knowledge - Experience - Study - Tools - Services - Time to go - punctuality - Accountability - Professionalism - Accuracy - Guaranteed - Patents - Sacrifices - Safety and security - Payment of tax obligations No one can denigrate other people's work by judging prices. Only by knowing all the elements necessary for the production of a certain work can you estimate the actual cost. I did not write this dialogue, but am sharing it to support craftsmen and entrepreneurs.

22.01.2022 We are now a distributor for Norglass products which include epoxy resin (Norglass Liquid Glass) and colourants including dyes and metallics, as well as a polyurethane (Northane) which comes in Gloss and Satin finishes but can be further adjusted with a flattening agent for a low sheen finish. Products and pricing will be added to the website next week.

14.01.2022 Some beautiful custom made mud kitchens for MacArthur School at Cobbity. These were 1200 x 500mm wide x 450mm high and the middle one was just 800 x 500mm they were made from blackbutt frames and California redwood tops. Finished in a marine varnish.

13.01.2022 Our excursion today took us to our mates Derek and his young fella Nicks Woodpatch House and Garden to learn new techniques and show off our projects built on t...he back of a work shop he did with us late last year. He also gave us a gigantic slab of Silky Oak to carve up a Long Neck Turtle for Federal MP Susan Templeman to give thanks for her advocacy for kids in our community.

11.01.2022 This absolutely stunning herringbone table all finished off and in its new home! What a beautiful piece this one is. Made out of Mountain Ash and finished in a clear polyurethane, a product called northane from Norglas which provides an almost indestructable surface to the timber without compromising on the look of the timber This one was a custom order and is1800 X 840mm.

11.01.2022 Our new machine up and running!!! The wood wiz can flatten slabs and sand them to a high finish. Previously we used to do this with a hand router and purpose made bed. The woodwiz allows us to plane and sand big slabs in a very short period of time as well dress timber posts and rails significantly reducing our time.

10.01.2022 One of our customers shared with us this video. The epoxy was poured way to thick, however even if it does crack and you have a powder based tint all you need to do is router out over the top a few mm and then repour over the top and the resin will fill the cracks and cover the top. As the weather warms up just do shallow pours of 15-20mm at a time to prevent cracking.
