24.01.2022 All well on the farm, Geoff and I are well, sheep ok , donkeys have settled down and are running with the sheep, cattle ok, and chooks well that is another story. DAnvers were meant to go to the auction but are still here. Three Silkie hens are broody, now that is great they are more reliable than the incubator. So spend my day watching the new Isa Browns lay eggs and adjust their nests for comfort. Theirs not my comfort. Watching the pumpkins and chocos grow, slowly go...ing mad! Me not the vegetables. Have mowed the grass excessively and tried to make Geoff a bowling green. That didnt work so we have resorted to croquet. When this is over we will be fat as I have started cooking. Hope you are all well. CHEERS Sandra. See more

24.01.2022 We left home lunchtime Friday and got home last night to find 108mm in the rain gauge wow water at last. Better still it is raining again this morning.

24.01.2022 Just for the record 7 weeks and came home on Samanthas birthday. MUULA so sweet and follows me everywhere. This girl has some big and small paws to fill.

23.01.2022 This is exciting and a great day. First show on the Downs in three years and we won Interbreed Supreme Ram and Supreme Ewe and Ram.

23.01.2022 Reading and searching Marcus Aurealius 2000 years ago and what a font of wisdom. 'Very little is needed to make a happy life, it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.' We should make this the first thing we teach our children there would be an amazing decrease in mental illness.

23.01.2022 I am not posting photos they are too confronting. Another dog attack this week twelve more sheep dead and afew more will also die. Locally , please do not waste money on advertising for your lost dog , instead tie the bloody thing up at night. We are on a 1080 baiting programme so if your dog comes our way it will not come home.

21.01.2022 Thank you to all at the Stanthorpe car boot sale and poultry markets today. Great fresh vegetables and sold most of my young Silkies. A very nice outing and I met some great people.

20.01.2022 Our little Diva is quite unwell. She had surgery yesterday and nearly all her teeth removed plus jaw bone was involved. She is now on antibiotics and soft diet. Custard, ice cream, milk and lots of soft gravy soaked soft meat. Like a kid with tonsils and showing separation anxiety and sleeping on the end of Mums bed.

17.01.2022 Trying to sort out breeding and show stock ready for National at Maitland.

17.01.2022 The new boy and girls just off the trailer after very very long trip. They have travelled well and are settling in to quarantine.

16.01.2022 Sad to see Warwick Show has been cancelled. A sign of sensible precautions but still sad we were looking forward to an enjoyable day out.

16.01.2022 Must be our turn it really is raining this time. Tanks are full, sheep heading for shelter and I left the washing on the line. If I was the car it should flood.

16.01.2022 Jonathan Mooney was always the slow kid in class. Called stupid and lazy most of his life, he believed that because he was different, he was deficient.

15.01.2022 Thank you to Inglewood Show Society for a great little show. Amazing the hard work that Karen and Glen put in to the Poultry shed. There was one unfortunate incident but on the whole a good show. My white Silkie hen and cockerel won their classes and my Black mottled hen dAnver was a Champion.

15.01.2022 Two ladies that decided on a very early breeding season. Not sure how many eggs but I know there are black , partridge ,buff silkies and some lavender mottled danver. Some girls are just I tent on making my life interesting. Now off to prepare a maternity pen!

13.01.2022 From start to finish.

11.01.2022 A couple of girls decided on an early breeding season.

10.01.2022 Not a bad EKKA . Only two shows this year an we had Champions and reserves at both and a Supreme pair . The most exciting part was an honourable mention for our all lamb Breeders Group. The judge said they were as good as any group in the Southern states. Coming from a drought here that really is something.

09.01.2022 Kings creek is running at Greenmount looks like A good storm. EastGreenmount 3mm guess we will have to wait for the next storm and hope it is our turn.

09.01.2022 Some of the sheep just hanging around not too bad for a drought year.

08.01.2022 Lambing time is so exciting.

06.01.2022 We have been asked to publish our price range. Sorry this is just not on, we deal personally with our customers and try to be reasonable with our prices. We invest large sums on premier blood lines and expect a reasonable return. With stud stock as with anything of quality, you get what you pay for. We have a fifty percent cull rate anything that does not make our strict standards goes to the butcher. So please do not ask for cheap, inferior stock at cheap prices . This does not happen here.

06.01.2022 Stewards auction at the Ekka ,very inebriated but raised lots of money for Childrens Hospital.

05.01.2022 And it all starts again, the cycle of life. Now to keep the dogs out and pray for rain.

04.01.2022 28 mm of rain last night in a storm .

02.01.2022 Spring has sprung some of our babies ,some destined for the show ring and studs

02.01.2022 Little bundles of fluff for Easter. Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter Sunday.

01.01.2022 Thankyou to the one person who has made contact to check that we are ok .We will be forever grateful that you cared.. For general interest we are great, the animals are fine and we are waiting impatiently for lambs. Highlight of the week is my six Easter Silkie chicks blacks or blues with perfect feet and good pigment. I am still watching the pumpkins grow and mowing grass, the garden has never been so well tended. Happy Easter to all our friends and hope this virus thing will be over soon.

01.01.2022 There is aways a couple of kids that will just not go to bed.

01.01.2022 Waiting for rain.
