23.01.2022 Turtles. I absolutely love them. They are such beautiful, calm, strong beings of the sea. There is so much wisdom we can learn from sea turtles: Age gracefully, be a good navigator, swim with the current and be at ease within your own shell. The day I swam with these majestic creatures for the first time was one of the best days of my life!! I was up in Far North Queensland with two of my favourite souls when I literally came nose to nose with a sea turtle (I nearly co...ncussed the poor thing with my knee ). I watched him glide and flout with the current, whilst looking cool, calm and totally collected! I want to be a freakin turtle I remember thinking! They know their shit. They have sorted this life out! My love affair with turtles continues to this day and is the biggest motivator behind me quitting single use plastics! The single use plastics that we use in our everyday life end up in our seas. And my majestic friends mistake it for jellyfish and other sea creatures and try and eat it. This leads to blockages in the digestive system, and eventual death . Absolutely heartbreaking! The beautiful sea turtles and all other incredible sea life need our help more than ever. 20.01.2022 Whenever I walk through the forest I am in awe of the art that nature creates. Have you ever closely looked at an old tree and seen all the hollows and gnarls that have been slowly and intentionally carved out over decades, even centuries? A tree hollow is home to a vast and diverse range of creatures, from the soft and fluffy to the slimy and squirmy. Because of how long it takes for nature to create such perfect little homes for many of her creatures, tree hollows ar...e found in old growth forests. The Mid North Coast boasts many beautiful such spaces. Insanely though, these forests are STILL being logged. When we remove the tree, we remove the hollow, and subsequently 1000s of creatures are being displaced, and even, becoming extinct. These little creatures need our help. The forests need our help. Mother Earth needs our help. Dont forget the power of just one voice, one signature! Not that we are close to being plastic free yet, but every year we sit and reflect about what waste free practices are working, what we need to tackle next and what is letting us down. And every year we are getting a bit closer to smashing that goal! A plastic free life is so indivdual and looks different to everyone. Some of us do such an inspiring job of eliminating all plastics and waste over night wh...ile some of us take more slow, smaller steps. It doesnt matter the process as long as the outcome is sustainable . 15.01.2022 Self Care Saturday || Head out to Nature. Whenever I am feeling uneasy in my body, emotionally stretched or blue I will head to the trees. Being in nature has the ability to snap me from my thoughts and ground me in the present moment. Personally it has been super important for me to live in nature for this very reason and now I am super lucky to live in one of the most beautiful parts of Australia (not biased at all, just fact lol) so I can literally step outside my back... door and am in amongst the rainforest. When nerding out on the research behind nature and healing I learnt that Trees and plants can literally heal us! They release a compound known as Phytoncides which has been shown to change the blood composition, impacting our protection against cancer, boosts our immune system and lowers our blood pressure! How incredible is that!! Honestly, as if you needed another reason to love trees! Make sure you take some time out for yourselves this weekend whatever you are doing and go sit and be with a tree. I find they are also the BEST listeners!! Rosie x

13.01.2022 Today I gardened. Gardening brings me so much clarity, joy and peace. I dont know whether it is the excuse to get my hands, knees and face stained with soil, or whether it is the act of nurturing something outside ourselves, or the fact that I know I am investing in my families future with the hope of a solid yield to feed us all. Whatever the mechanisms gardening just heals my soul! Every time.
