25.01.2022 ROTARY INDUCTION 2018-9 On Sunday 22nd. July, Judith MacKenzie was inducted as president of the Rotary Club of Woombye-Palmwoods for the following Rotary year 2018-19. Assistant District Governor, Lynda Morrell inducted Judith at a lunch time meeting of the club at Le Coq Bressan at Montville. There were many visitors from kindred clubs supporting our club induction and a most enjoyable lunch completed the ceremony. Outgoing president Joe Kearney outlined his achievements for the club and Judith gave her directions for the coming year. We started the new year with our burger stall at the Garden Expo and coming up is the help we give at Chevallum Strawberryfest run by the Chevallum School.
25.01.2022 Sending a big shout out to all our members and our friends of Rotary who are preparing for a big three days of service at the Sunshine Coast Show. This is one of our major fundraisers for the year, and helps us to be able to put funds back into our community. If you’re heading to the show, please come and support us!

07.01.2022 GARDEN EXPO 2018 - This was a most successful year with fine clear skies after the wet of recent weeks. The Friday and Saturday were very busy and the Expo presentation was as good as seen in recent times. Our Rotary Club had a good number of new Friends of Rotary (helpers) at this years Expo and Nambour Show. Thanks to all those who turned up to make this a successful year. Mel Ferguson made a range of small colourful cakes, Thanks mel. Our show convenor, Dennis Bayley, was instrumental in obtaining a grant from the council to purchase three new marquees to provide weather protection for our patrons. They proved most successful and well used every day.

03.01.2022 A very proud moment for our club and the wider Rotary family this week. Nathan Cooper, exchange student with our club in 1997-98, after winning his seat in the Alberta Legislature with a primary vote of 78%, was this week elected as Speaker of the House by his parliamentary colleagues. Congrats Nathan! https://www.cbc.ca//nathan-cooper-chosen-speaker-of-albert
