After being urgently redeployed from the Harrington Fire, we arrived at Ward Rd, Johns River to find an active firefront with lives and property under threat. We spent the remainder of the night and the next morning protecting houses, clearing roads for emergency services, backburning, and generally trying to contain a bad situation.

Appliance : Wootton 1 We were tasked with patrolling & protecting the perimeter of town with 1 other truck after the main task force left at 1900 hrs to go to another fire ground. Appliance: Wootton 1 We were tasked with stopping the fire from crossing a ridge and heading west towards properties and other assets. Fortunately, after a day on the mountain, the fire was held back so that ongoing patrols eventually extinguished the fire.
