25.01.2022 Please respond to ad, not to Word Factory :)

24.01.2022 It occurred to me this morning, while trying to find a rooster for a friend that... HENS ARE THE NEW TOILET PAPER!!!!

24.01.2022 Always pays to remember that a potential employer is likely to check you out on Facebook! If your page is public, remember your posts will reflect a great deal about you that may influence whether you are employed or not.

17.01.2022 OK kids, here's today's episode of "why spelling and spell checking are important:"

15.01.2022 Whether you're religious or not, Benjamin Franklin had the right idea when he said 'God helps those who helps themselves'. He didn't mean helping yourself to someone else's toilet rolls, he meant "Don't sit on your bum waiting for the universe to help you; you make your own destiny". So, you've lost your job? Use this time productively and get your resume ready for new beginnings. Word Factory is OPEN for business by email and phone. Easy, it's how I have operated this business for the past nine years anyway.

13.01.2022 "Suzy has been instrumental in assisting career progression, I can 100% recommend her Resume and Application Letter Writing Service. Finding a suitable career path after being a police officer for 15 years was a challenge. I could see positions being advertised were definitely suitable and that my skills were transferable, though writing selection criteria myself was not getting me the interviews. My lingo and formatting of letters obviously wasn’t ticking all the boxes. Once Suzy was armed with all of the facts about my key skills, experience and case examples to write an application on my behalf, I finally started to get my foot in the door. I have gained employment and even managed to progress along my career path within 12 months. I can not thank her enough - Suzy without you I’d still be banging on doors. Thanks Geoff."

12.01.2022 ... with a new resume!

10.01.2022 Veterinarian wanted to join our award-winning, boutique, 3 vet practice on the Atherton Tablelands. You can expect excellent mentorship and exposure to an inter...esting case load (particularly surgical). New grads are welcome to apply but our ideal applicant will have at least a year’s experience. Full-time is ideal but we are open to negotiating permanent part-time hours if this is preferred. Salary is a combination of annual salary plus quarterly bonus (the bonus being a percentage of what you invoice). A rough estimate of total salary on this package would be $80-$85K for 2-3 years experience, $85K-$100K for 3-6 years experience, and $100K+ for 6 years+. Our bonus system means that there is room to grow and to receive a direct financial benefit from the effort you put in. Want to earn more? We are continually growing and evolving as a business and for the right person can provide the opportunity to buy into the practice as a director down the track. In an age of corporatization of practices this kind of opportunity will become increasingly difficult to come by in the future. Here are some details about our practice: You won’t be rushed on our scheduler. We block out the first hour of the day for surgery admissions, urgent consults, to plan the surgery list with our nursing team, and to manage any in-patients and speak with their owners. You will have 20min annual health check and vaccination consults, 30min standard consults, and 40-50min for skin, ears, bandage changes, and more complex/sick patients. We generally book between 3 8 surgical procedures per day. Our standard roster has 2 vets and 4 support staff each day. We also roster some days with 3 vets to allow time to catch up on phone-calls, medical notes, and to perform more complex surgeries. We ensure that all staff take breaks and go home on time. In order to achieve this we block out the last 30min of each day so that staff can tie up loose ends, clean, prep for the next day, call clients, and settle any in-patients for the night. We all usually walk out together at 5pm because life is too short to work late. Caseload breakdown of species is around 70% canine and 30% feline with the odd reptile, rodent, bird and wildlife cases just for fun. We provide emergency after hours sharing on-call on a 1 in 3 basis. On-call is paid at a fixed rate of $45 for each on-call period and 50% of professional fees for any cases. We are located at 21 Louise Street Atherton. Although we are in far north QLD we are at 750m elevation. This means we enjoy the sun and warmth in winter by day but also get to put on the heater and a jumper at night, and we don’t have the same humidity and extreme heat as Cairns in summer. We are close to Port Douglas, Cairns and Palm Cove with the reef, Daintree rainforest, the Gulf, Cape York Peninsula and the outback all at our doorstep. We have an excellent support staff team consisting of 5 qualified veterinary nurses with a combined 60 years of experience. We also have 2 veterinary assistants and a dedicated Client Care Representative (CCR), all of whom are also highly skilled and knowledgeable thanks to our in-house training modules and support staff induction program. You will receive administrative support from our CCR and our entire support team assists with the preparation of home care notes and any other client/patient documentation and record-keeping. You will never write on a microchip form or do tedious administrative tasks. We are proactive about mentorship support. We have 2 full time vets with 10 and 3 years of experience that are here to help you with cases at any time. We schedule weekly feedback sessions with our Principal Vet for the review of cases from the past week, and also encourage clinical discussions and shadowing during each day. We have all the usual suspects when it comes to equipment and are constantly upgrading and buying new things as we grow (and as vets and nurses tell us they want various new machines and gadgets!). All staff have a one-on-one meeting with the Principal Vet/owner every 6 months to provide their feedback on how they can be supported in their role and extended in their career. Our long distance from referral centres and our Principal Vet’s blind optimism means we refer almost no cases and regularly perform all sorts of complex soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries including TPLOs on an almost weekly basis. You will never again be bored by the humdrum of castrate, spey, dental, repeat. We are a progressive practice that supports ongoing learning and continually improving medicine. You will have a CE allowance and 1 week paid CPD leave, and we are also open to negotiating the full or part payment of other courses and training around practical skills. We have attracted a fantastic client base with zero tolerance for rudeness/abuse of our staff and protocols in place to avoid arguments (we do not provide credit/accounts). We fire clients who do not show respect to our team. We have an Employee Assistance Program through Uprise that focuses on proactive mental health and wellbeing, as well as coaching and therapy for specific issues and needs. This position would suit someone who: Wants exposure to cases that would usually get referred to specialists. Wants to learn orthopaedics. Enjoys working within a positive culture with a high level of support. Enjoys working cases up to a high standard with wonderful clients. Is in need of mentoring and guidance from an experienced and highly skilled vet. Email your cover letter and resume to [email protected]

10.01.2022 Wishing all my customers a very happy and definitely healthy Easter. Word Factory will be closed now until 22 April. I should have been in UK at the moment, so taking a break while it is a bit quieter. I won't be going anywhere, so if you have an urgent request, email to [email protected] and I will see what I can do. Stay safe at home.
