25.01.2022 It was reported this week that ICARE has "frozen" NSW Workers Premium Rates. The following was the release "Treasurer Dominic Perrottet confirmed on May 26 that premium rates for the Nominal Insurer will remain unchanged from June 30, in a move they said will save businesses across the state more than $325 million. Managed by icare, the Nominal Insurer protects over 325,000 businesses and their 3.2 million workers". We have seen some highly read publications report this as "i...care freezes workers insurance premiums". Workers Comp Savings wants to clearly note that this release refers to the Industry Rates or what was called back in the day asTarrif Rates (business rates). This means for Small Business that has less than <$30,000 Average Perfomance Premium (APP). Your rates remain the same and claims experience will not impact you. However if your APP is more than $30,000 then the surprise suprise you will still have claims impact your premium and will receive a premium notice post 30th June 2020. However your Industry Rate will remain the same. We need to ensure that this message is provided very clearly.
20.01.2022 We initially reported some troubles at high seas for the NSW Scheme on the 27th July 2020. Fast forward a good week or so and we have seen a Four Corners Program dedicated to the issue and also the fall of ICARE CEO's. Whilst a review is occurring and marked changes for August 2021, the question still needs to be asked......will there will be reforms for Employers? ... https://www.smh.com.au//nsw-treasurer-knew-about-icare-ceo

18.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
14.01.2022 Important update from Safe Work NSW in respect to COVID-19. SafeWork NSW also confirmed that notification is required for serious illnesses where a resident, staff, contractor and/or other person is requiring medical treatment provided by a nurse or doctor within 48-hours of exposure to an infection/airborne contaminants such as COVID-19. The workplace must be a significant contributing factor in being exposed to the serious illness.

14.01.2022 A must see article published on the Safe Work NSW WebSite. This can assist Employers with how to manage their workplaces. It is also noted that it if you can work from home in specific jobs/industries then you follow this advice, rather than risk expsoure at work. https://www.safework.nsw.gov.au//Coronavirus-advice-and-gu

12.01.2022 One of Clients e-mailed us this morning in respect to a article in the SMH. Some concerning and worrying comments made in this article about the Scheme. Just wondering...... does this surprise anyone but???? and what is the answer? https://www.smh.com.au//snouts-in-the-trough-circle-austra
07.01.2022 Workers Comp Savings generally doesn't do Public Health Announcement Emails etc... However we are deeply concerned for our Collegues and Clients in Victoria at the moment. Further to this, we have seen in the last hour reports of a person travelling between borders whilst being tested for Covid -19....... Its seems that we have reached a point where the initial self management advice for the management of the virius has been thrown out the window.... We have all enjoyed returning some kind of Pre-Covid 19 activities with our families, friends and a feel or normality. Even our Daryl Gleeson returned to the office this morning after going back to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and he looks like a Cheetah with bruises up and down his arms. Let's revisit the basics: 1/ If you have or feel flu like symptoms - don't go to work and stay at home. It's called Self Isolating 2/ Go get tested to ensure that it is a Flu and you don't pass anything sinister onto your family etc 3/ Go back to work once your flu like symptoms have resolved 4/ Many companies are still having people work from home, continue this if you can. Your Family Members are really enjoying the slow cook meals you are doing at the moment. 5/ Listen to the bloody rules that the Department of Health and Governments tell us to follow. What is unfortunate is that we are moving into the middle of the Winter Months. So this is regarded when Covid -19 really ramps up. So please, we have sacrified enough with this virus. Stay on the high road and keep to the basics.
06.01.2022 Well things are changing at a rapid pace at the moment with Workplace Injuries and the threat of COVID - 19. NSW Parliament has passed a bill that allows Allied Health Professionals to provide subsequent certification for claims. No real suprise that this was coming as Victoria has been operating like this for a few years. However the change was sudden and aimed at assisting GP's.... Check out our urgent update bulletin. http://workerscompsavings.com.au/announcements-detail.php

04.01.2022 How fast a finacial year goes.... we are currently approaching the 2020/2021 Renewal Period. This would be Kyle and Daryl's 46th renewal period combined. So much has changed in our society over the past year and we living in a very different era at the moment. However despite all the current financial assistance provided by the Australian Government, Premiums will still need to be paid and this could push some Employers to the brink of extinction. ... For every $1 paid on a claim your business could be impacted from anywhere from $3 to the most we have ever seen at a whopping $30 per $1 paid. Despite COVID-19 providing a difficult landscape to work with Doctors at the moment, Kyle and Daryl are obtaining the best outcomes we have ever experienced. Workers Comp Savings Pty Ltd will continue to work with their current Clients on the best premium modelling scenerios leading upto 30th June 2020. However, Workers Comp Savings Pty Ltd would like to extend a free Premium/Claims Overview at no cost to any New Clients.
